After second period had finally ended I rushed to my locker, grabbed the books and binder I needed, then went to my next class, 3rd period World History and sat my stuff down.

Then I grabbed my phone and an apple from my bag. I rushed outside to the "breakyard" which was really just a slab of concrete and a grass feild where kids just hung out for 20 minutes before 3rd period. I went and sat on a chain fence in my usual corner and watched everyone while I ate my apple and listened to music. "I really hope I see Sage today." They're always wearing something androgynous and I can never tell their gender. Today the were wearing a knit grey, white, and black beanieover their messy dyed white hair, black converses, a Kiss t-shirt, and some black baggy ripped jeans. Then I spotted them sitting on the ground playing a card game with their friends, smiling and laughing without a care in the world.

I kept watch the group play their card game and I guess Sage saw me starring because they turned and looked straight at me. I didn't realize they were looking at me intill they moved and walked away from their group to the dismay of their friends.

Then they walked towards me. I looked down at my phone to pretend I hadn't been staring a second ago. "Hey!" I looked up. It was Sage standing in front of me.  They jumped up on the fence beside me and asked what I was listening to. I showed them my phone screen which had a picture of the album art of a song by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis called Otherside. "Nice," Sage said. "I really like this song by them called Same Love and it has Nary Lambert in it. You should listen to it. Its really good." "Alright I will," I said to them. "So you're the new kid, right? I'm Sage Jones." Sage introduced themself. "Nice to meet you," I said while taking one earbud out. "Yeah, I'm the new kid, my name's Andy. I've heard of you around school a few times. Were you the kid who put duct tape over the entrance door the first day of school?" "Haha, nice name. And yeah I was. Don't forget that I spray painted 'Closed due to lack of individuality' on it! That's the most important part! It took them 40 minutes to get it all off. I superglue parts of it!" Sage laughed at their prank. "They never caught me. I kinda wish they did so I could lecture them on destroying the individual spirits of their students. Damn." Wow, this person was so cool. "Nice," I replied, "maybe next time ill help you, yeah?" "Yeah sure, that sounds good. Next prank I pull ill be sure to let you know."

I was about to reply, then the bell rang summoning everyone back to their third period classes. You could hear every one groaning. The weather was so nice, nobody wanted to go back inside. "Well, ill see you tomorrow, yeah?" Sage asked. "Yeah." I said before walking off to my next class.
