Based on Will Vinton's Claymation film "The Adventures of Mark Twain"
One warm and beautiful spring afternoon, twenty-four year old Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher were together in their house on a hill in St. Louis. They were working on a baby's nursery, for Becky was expecting a baby.
As Tom held Becky's hand, he smiled at her with his handsome smile, with his blue eyes twinkling. Rebecca smiled back, showing her pearly white teeth, her soft brown eyes gazing into his eyes. They were as man and woman, simply in love. In their childhood days, they professed their love for each other. They went to school together, they played with one another, and they especially hugged and kissed each other.
As adults, they believed that they could share their love with something they lacked; a child to call their own. When Becky finally announced to Tom that she was expecting a child, he was overjoyed. He lifted Becky up into his arms, and twirled her around.
Months have passed, and 'twas it was truly evident that the girl was pregnant. "Oh... Becky..." Tom sighed, "You look wonderful." He laid his hand on Becky's somewhat round stomach. She rested her hand on top of his, and replied, "Thank You. If you look good, you feel good. All though I do feel quite large and round in the tummy, but that's because our baby is growin' in there." She patted her stomach, as Tom pressed his ear on her tummy. He heard a quiet "thump-bump...thump-bump...thump-bump." from within her. He smiled. He knew he was going to be a father very soon.
Becky knew the same thing. She was going to be a mother. They were both very excited. Tom and Becky believe that a child would strengthen their relationship, the very same relationship that they had when they were kids.
Tom remembers when he and Becky first met. He saw her just when she just moved to Hannibal from St. Louis, at her new house. He fell in love with her immediately. At school, he was officially introduced to her, and got engaged with her.
Becky was his love, and he would not let any danger come to her, especially if she was pregnant. Every time that Tom would tell her, "Sit down, and get off of your feet, before they get swollen!", Becky would reply, "Oh, Thomas Sawyer, do not be such a worry wart."
