Yeah, I think we all remember that day. The sky once blue as ever turned the ugly color of a bruise. Those horrible screams from children and adults alike. Ships launching those creatures straight from Hell. I don't think any of us has forgotten no matter how hard we try. But here we are, those who still stand as a human. Unlike those that were taken and either slaughtered, experimented on, or Transitioned.
Beep......beep......beep.....I groan as I pull myself out of a fantasy, a dream, and slam the alarm with a strong fist. I groggily open my eyes. If I didn't know about the last 3 months, I would have thought today would be a normal day.
But today is normal, a new kind if normal though.
The scratchy sheets rub uncomfortably on my bare thighs. I sit up and rub the sleep away from my eyes and push my hair out of my huge, doe like eyes. As I pull myself up, I hear that familiar screech, still as ear-deafening as ever. Skreeee.....screeeee...I know what it is, and it still terrifies me every time I hear it.
I quietly, but quickly run to the window. "They're communicating...." one of the racing thoughts in my head says. I watch with an undeniable interest as they talk and gesture. All I know, is that I have to gather this data.
