"Babe, Kelsey will be over in about 2 minutes so you don't have to worry about watching the kids, just tell her where the bottles are for when they nap alright? " I say to Caleb as I head out the door Giving Ava and Jackson goodbye kisses.
"Yeah whatever" is all I get in response.
It's only 7:00am and I already want this day to be over.
----
I open up the Coffee Shop and start getting things ready for when customers get here, tying my hair up into a messy bun.
"Hey hun hows the kids?" my boss asks me.
"They're quite a handfull." I say with a giggle
"You haven't seen anything yet sweetheart" she winked at me, both of us now full of laughter.
I start to clear the tables off from the first few customers when I see someone that looks familiar walk by. I blink a couple times and shake my head, "that wasn't Harry" I whisper to myself, calming myself down. I continue wiping down the table and bring the dirty dishes to Andrew in the kitchen.
"Hey kiddo!" Andrew says with great glee
Putting a fake smile on my face I respond, "Hey Andrew."
I head back out and start to take the next customers order.
----
I open the door to the apartment and immediately my nostrils filled with the scent of beer. Gagging in disgust I walk to the living room and find Caleb lying on the couch passed out with about 4 beers on the coffee table and one in his hand. I slowly take the bottle out of his hand, hoping not to wake him. I feel a fist jab into my stomach. " What the hell are you doing?!" Caleb yelled with anger.
Holding my stomach, and catching my breath I reply, "I was just trying to clean up babe."
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you."
I roll my eyes and murmur to myself, "yeah you never do."
I walk into the twins room to find them playing together with a note from kelsey:
Hey, I had to go home a little early my mom needed some help running errands. Text me later xoxo Kels.
I pick up Ava and put her on my lap.
"Mommy loves you very much" I kiss her on her forehead
Ava smiles, "Wuv Mamma" she hugs me.
I pick up Jackson and I do and say the same, but he doesn't respond with anything. I smile, rocking him from side to side softly singing a lullaby to him, someone knocking on the door interrupts me. "I'll get it!" I yell to Caleb. I head towards the door with Jackson in my hands and Ava following along.
Caleb had gotten to it before me, stumbling over his own feet tryng to grasp onto the doorknob, he opens the door.
I could not believe what I was seeing, he didn't look much different, tall, same curly hair, the same sunglasses, beanie, smile. I begin smiling to myself, but reality wakes me up. I hear a loud thud and watch Caleb hit the ground.
