Running.
That's all the girl needed to think about. Not her breathing techniques, not the pain in her her abdomen, but maybe she should've been watching the trees. She smashed, right into a branch. Blood spattered against the tree as her nose broke.

Screaming.
That's all the girl could do. Not get up and continue running, not grab something for defence. She knew she needed to do either one or both of those things but she couldn't. It's amazing how little the human body can do when it's afraid.
A tear streaked down her cheek as she saw it. The sight of it gave her newfound strength and she hauled herself and clumsily, she ran.

Running.
She knew she was delaying the inevitable. It always got you in the end. Why did she have to come here? She knew what she'd be getting into. Curiosity killed the cat. That's what they say. It's got literal sense now though.

Light.
It almost blinded her. Do you know when you wake up at three in the morning and turn on a light? That's what it felt like. The trees had been blocking out the sun and now she's on a freeway. Wait, she's on freeway. That means people. She spots a car in the distance.

Running.
She's running towards the car, probably looking like a mad-woman to the driver. She doesn't care. She's been saved.
"Help!" She screams. She can see the make of the car now, a Prius. It's close. The driver looks female. She can't see it anymore. The car stops and the girl slams her hands on the hood. "Please help me!?"
The driver looks confused but opens the door nonetheless. The girl jumps in the door and slams it shut.
She looks at the driver. "Drive."

Driving.
The forest was long gone, but she hadn't stopped shaking yet.
"Hi, I'm Gale." Pipes up the driver, after an hour of silence.
"Ashley."Says the girl, her voice was shaking so much.
"So, why the urgency and the shaking?"
Ashley wanted to answer. She shouldn't. She knows what happens when you answer. Ashley answered. That's what got her in this mess. Where was it?
"Well?"
Gale's voice broke her out of her trance and she whispered "I don't know."
As she spoke that last word, she knew something was up. It's here.
She turned around and looked in the backseat.
"It's here. Oh my fucking god it's here." Whimpered Ashley.
"Wait, what's here? What are you on about?" Gale looked confused.
It reached out a long, bony hand and placed it on Ashley's shoulder. Her eyes widen and pop. Her ribs crack inward and blood spurts all over the car. Blood seeps out her ears, her mouth, her nose. All this happened in a split second. To top it all off her skull convulsed inwards  and as the blood spatters against Gale's face, she screams.
