~Gwen~
Walking fast I turned the corner to go to math class- BAM!
There he was.
John.
Walking down the halls with his friends laughing at some joke I couldn't hear.
My heart skipped a beat and I looked down as I continued to math. Everyday was like this. Just seeing him for a moment made me happy. The group stopped by their next class, leaned against the wall to wait for the teacher. As I walked by I dared to look up, and there were a perfect set of bright blue eyes looking back. My heart rose to my throat and I my cheeks were on fire. Quickly looking down I made my way into math. Finally breathing, I took out yesterday's assignment.-after school-
The teacher was not going to be happy, I walked fast down the hall. The newspaper club needed these ASAP. I flipped through the stack of paper to make sure I made enough copies. 5, 10, 15... And soon enough I came in contact with a large black pole. Falling back, all of the crisp white sheets of paper flew around me. I looked dumbfounded as I sat on the ground, the papers scattered all around me- all 250 copies. As I lean over and start to pick them up I hear a muffled laugh. I turn around see him, John.
I froze, did he just see what happened? He kneeled on the ground next to me and started to pick up the papers. I forced my eyes down and continued to pick up also. Quickly they were in a stack, and John handed me his.
"Thank you!" I hesitated. He smiled an easy smile.
"No problem, so newspaper club, huh?" he asked. I nodded. And let
Out a meek "yes".
"Well, I'm i just finished swim practice," he ran his hand over his short brown hair, droplets of water flying in all directions.
"I can tell," I laughed. I quickly covered my mouth. I do not like my smile at all. He reached his hand up and brought my hand down.
"No need to do that!" he smiled again.
"Gwen! Where are those copies?!" the teacher yelled out of his room. I turned around and quickly ran into the club room. My heart racing wildly.-Later that night-
I pulled my blankets over my head. The moment I spent with John kept replaying in my head.
He was a year older than me, slightly tan, light brown hair, vivid blue eyes, and a bright smile. While I was a lowly sophomore; freckled, medium length brown hair, pale, a crooked nose and braces to complete that.
All I have is a hopeless crush.. With someone I have no chance with.
~Gwen's POV~
Math. Again. Same pattern every weekday. As I turned the corner John and his group of friends were exactly where they always are, leaning against the wall.
I reach the door of my math class to find the other kids in my class gathered around it, waiting for the teacher. I slide to the back of the group, dig through my bag until I find my book and open it to where I left off. Letting the world drift away and my mind settle into my book, I could feel someone looking at me. As I look slowly from my pages, I spy John across the hall smiling at me. Biting my lip I look back to my book. Footsteps come near.
"I hope you didn't get into trouble yesterday," I shyly look up at him."Same as everyday," I shrugged.
"That's too bad," he sighed and leaned up against the wall next to me. I felt goosebumps rise on my arms.
"So what are you reading?" he said as he tried to look over my shoulder.
"Quantum Physics," I couldn't help to smile, it really interested me. He raised his eyebrows. And started to laugh.
"I did not expect that!" I blushed, marked my page, and slid it under my arm. The warning bell buzzed through the hall.
"Gotta fly, talk to you later Gwen!" John said as he flung his bag over his shoulder. My jaw dropped, he knew my name. My mouth went dry, but I managed to say "Goodbye," with a smile.
