PROLOGE

                        It was a hot summer day on June 20, 1859 in the state of Georgia, not to mention it was Elizabeth Jane Jacobs' fifteenth birthday.  Her father, Martun Jacobs, was quite pleased that his baby girl was now a woman.  Her brother, Gregory Dale Jacobs(19), said that if she chose to marry and her groom broke her heart, then he woudl hurt him.  Elizabeth did not understand what they ment by these words they spoke.  The last time she saw her father and brother so protective of her was...everyday.  They were so protective of her because her mother died giving birth to her and her father had never really forgiven her, but they did let her into their hearts.
