Main Characters: (They are the fictional characters in this fanfic and Bones character)
Dr. Temprance Brennan- Temperance "Bones" Brennan is a forensic anthropologist who works in the Medico-Legal lab at the fictional Jeffersonian Institute in Washington, D.C. She received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University. She has three doctorates, in anthropology, forensic anthropology and kinesiology; it is implied that most of her work at the lab was related to either long-dead bodies or victims of genocide.
Her occasional contract work for the FBI shifted the focus of her work. She was paired with FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, and helped to solve two difficult cases; since then, they have worked together almost exclusively on modern-day murder cases.
Brennan works with a group of other well-qualified colleagues, including the entomologist Jack Hodgins, her boss and forensic pathologist Camille Saroyan, forensic artist Angela Montenegro, and a host of eager graduate students. Booth refers to her crew of colleagues as "squints", because they come to crime scenes and squint at evidence. He is also responsible for her nickname, "Bones". As of season one it can be determined that Brennan is at least 30 years old.Special Agent Seeley Booth- Booth is from Philadelphia and is a fan of the Philadelphia Flyers Hockey Team; pictures of the team hang on the back wall of his office and he has been seen wearing a Flyers t-shirt. However, he grew up in Pittsburgh. Sometimes he is seen drinking from a Pittsburgh Steelers coffee mug, suggesting he is also a fan of that football team he acquires a row of seats from Veterans Stadium and recounts for Dr. Brennan how he attended game 6 of the 1980 World Series with his father, describing it as the "best day of his life". He was raised and still is a practicing Catholic, having served as an altar boy during his youth; he is often seen wearing a St. Christopher medal, which was given to him by his grandfather before being deployed to Somalia, around his neck. It is implied that he attended public schools. It is not mentioned where or when he attended college but he has stated that he put himself through college teaching dance. He has been an avid athlete and sports fan since his high school days. His home and office walls are adorned with various sports memorabilia including a signed picture of Bruins player Bobby Orr and the jersey of Pittsburgh Penguins player Mario Lemieux.
Angela Montenegro- Angela Montenegro is a fictional character, written as the daughter of a fictional representation of Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top (played by the musician himself). Angela was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 16, she is half-Chinese, and she once mentioned having taken French in school. Her middle name is meant to be an allusion to her father's guitar "Miss Pearly Gates". "Angela Montenegro" is not her birth name, but came to her in a dream; she legally changed it on her 18th birthday. According to Angela, her height is 5,8 and her weight is 135 pounds. The character of Angela Montenegro is a specialist in forensic facial reconstruction at the fictional Jeffersonian Institution, who frequently works with Dr. Temperance Brennan, her best friend. Angela received her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin in Visual Arts, with a minor in Computer Science. She also studied Biomedical Illustration at American University. She uses her skills as an artist to develop, maintain, and improve the lab's three-dimensional graphics and computer simulation systems. She is credited with the innovation of the "Angelater", which is later recreated/replaced with a newer version, the "Angelatron". She is the only member of the Medico-Legal Lab staff who does not hold an advanced degree.
Dr. Jack Stanley Hodgins- Jack Hodgins comes from an extremely wealthy family of Swedish descent, and is the sole heir to the fictional private corporation known as the Cantilever Group, although he hid his wealth from his coworkers for a long time. He had an uncle named Patrick. His grandfather served as a "code breaker" under Admiral Chester W. Nimitz during World War II. His family is the single largest donor to the Jeffersonian, although he would rather toil in academia than spend time in the high social society to which his wealth entitles him. After a serial killer Christopher Pelant hacks into Hodgins' savings and drains his bank account, he and Angela are forced to scrimp. However, he tells Sweets that he is content as he still has his work at the Jeffersonian and family - the two things which he values the most.
Hodgins, was bullied in school: in elementary and middle school for being a "rich boy" and in high school for his small physical stature and diminished social skills. It is later noted that he "managed to stand up for himself" on the last day of senior year, which Sweets believes gave him closure.Dr. Camille Saroyan- Previously she worked as a New York coroner, performing autopsies in difficult and sometimes unsanitary conditions, and admits to Booth she took the job at the Jeffersonian because of the facilities. She was also a cop in New York for eleven years before becoming a coroner. She is clearly a very focused and intelligent woman, to go from being a police officer to a medical doctor specialising in forensic pathology. (It's very unlikely that Brennan would tolerate a coroner with lesser qualifications.)She is a 'hard line' woman who takes charge of her division and defends them if necessary, as long as she believes they are in the right. Saroyan butts heads with Dr. Brennan and the other team members, but eventually accepts their quirks and develops relationships with them. At one point early, she considers removing Dr. Brennan from her position at the Jeffersonian, until both Angela and Booth make it abundantly clear if Brennan goes, the entire team will leave with her.
Wendell Bray- Wendell misunderstands Temperance Brennan's attempts to discover why younger men are attracted to older women, thinking that Brennan is hitting on him and worrying that the only way to keep his job would be to sleep with her. Angela Montenegro sets him straight, explaining that Brennan's interest in the subject is purely anthropological. Wendell is relieved, saying that he needs the job, as he owes a significant sum of money. Angela worries that Wendell is in debt to the mob and that this might compromise him on certain cases. When Angela voices her concerns, he explains that his local community collectively paid for his education and he needs to pay them back, and that his sense of urgency in repaying them is due to his gratitude. He reveals that his mother calls the scholarship that allows him to intern at the Jeffersonian "the miracle", and jokingly remarks that she spends more time in church thanking God than the priest does.
Christine Angela Booth- After Temperance Brennan goes into labor, but the hospital is half an hour away, and Seeley must find somewhere to safely deliver the baby. They arrive at an inn that is hosting an expensive wine event. After much pleading, the unwilling owner finally allows them to use the back building, which turns out to be a small stable. Booth is forced to deliver the baby on his own, and she comes out amidst tearful laughter from her mother. Both Booth and Brennan admire the baby, who they later name Christine (after Brennan's mother) at their very own house-warming party. Brennan reveals that the baby's middle name is Angela, after her closest friend and Christine's godmother, Angela Montenegro.
Michael Staccato Vincent Hodgins- Michael Staccato Vincent Hodgins is the infant son of Angela Montenegro and Jack Hodgins. While Angela was pregnant, it was discovered that Michael had a 25% chance of being born blind, due to Angela being an LCA (Leber's Congenital Amaurosis) carrier. Angela and Jack have to wait during a citywide blackout for Jack's genetic test results, to see if he is also an LCA carrier. He does indeed turn out to be a carrier, giving their unborn child a 25% chance of having LCA. However, Michael's eyesight appeared to be completely normal upon birth. Michael is enrolled in daycare at the Jeffersonian, but Angela sneaks him into the lab to visit Hodgins under Cam's nose. They're caught and Cam reminds them of her "no babies in the lab" rule. He seems to like Cam, and Cam cannot resist his cute little baby smile.
