It was the night of Halloween. Like usual, everybody is trick-or-treating, but I am inside having a blast, at my 2 best friends house, Mary Ann Jones and Elizabeth Jones, the twins. We're laughing, making jokes, pranking, and doing dares. My turn came around and they told me to go to the house at the end of the street and get candy.
Easy-peasy.
The three of us walked down the block, trying not to get hit by the scrawny little kids. When we reached the house, I turned back to grin at my friends when I noticed them a house away. "What's wrong with them, it's just a house who went all out on Halloween, right?", I thought to myself. I continued on. There. I opened the gate slightly, and a whole bunch of bugs crawled on my hand. EWW!!!, as I brushed them off!
I know it's Halloween but it doesn't mean your house needs to look like a bug-infested dump. I opened the gate further so I can fit through, but it made a squeaky sound and I quickly looked up. I noticed a shadowy, human-like figure behind the shattered window, and it quickly left. "What was that?!" My heart pounded so fast. I looked back at my terrified friends, when they motioned there hand back and forth and mouthed "to go on". "WHAT'S! They want me to really do this!?"
I take my first step on the cracked up concrete, so-called sidewalk. I took it, even if I was a bit scared. I mean all I have to do is knock and ask for candy, it was that easy. I took the step, now a couple more. Ceasing my steps, I finished up the fist half of the dare, now candy and I'm making a run for it. I knocked on the wood chipped door, no answer. So I quickly turned around, heading toward my friends. Until I see them running towards me and saying turn around. I turned around but before I can yell or run I was stared up and down. I felt uneasy. My mouth was moving but nothing was coming out. The man in front of me face structure was like perfection, his aroma was lightly consumed with lavender, and his figure was kept. A surprise, because his property tells a different story. At this point, Mary and Liz caught up to me with a blank expression on their face. They were in awe as I. The man broke the silence, "Trick-or-treat?"
"Tr.."
"TRICK!" Liz blurted out.
Mary and I simultaneously looked and Liz and gave her a Death stare. Slowly turning our head back to the Man with a grin. "Trick, I guess."
"Perfect! My first Trick of the night. Don't be frightened ladies, it is a simple trick."
"Better be." Mary Ann whispered.
I caught a glimpse of a slight grin formed on his face. I'm not liking this already, but what is the worst that can happen?
"Where Is my manners? I am Mr. Mikaelson, the owner of this house. My Family and I moved here about a month ago, come on in." He positioned himself out of the way and his arm extended.
We stupidly walked in. Deceived by the front property the interior was designed like it came from the 1600s. It was amazing, the entrance was vast and across the wall was covered in windows that portrayed the backyard. The pool was in mid-center, accompanied by a BBQ eating area on the far left and a basketball court on the far right. Modern lawn chairs canvased the pool with umbrella's attached. I noticed from afar a mini house that I assumed was the guest house. Surfacing back to the interior, two staircases overlooked the windows and underneath are hallways leading to different sections of the house. Mr. Mikaelson leads us to his left where we are now in the kitchen. Going down a few steps are both the dining and living room. I do a 360 of the open-living space and let me tell you, I love the work done on this place. The counter of the kitchen are made of wood and the backslash is stone, the cupboards are a midnight blue color with intricate moldings. The dining room matches the color of the kitchen with a big painting that covers the side wall and a chandelier placed perfectly above the table without feeling to overbearing. Now the living room is a sight like no other. The Flat screen hovered above the fire place, and on each side was a tall bookshelf that reached the high ceiling. A corner with two chairs to sit and read, and the light-gray couch that surrounds the tv with a coffee table that has no legs. He motions us to sit on the couch and my eyes was just locked in on the bookshelf.
"Ladies, Welcome to my home." He spoke.
I turned my head to him to pay attention. Will he explain the trick now?
"Now, this is no ordinary trick, but a prize to the winner."
"Well, what do we have to do?" Mary Ann asked.
"All you have to do is ..."
"Klaus!! What are you doing?" screamed a lady that came from around the corner. Her beauty was of an angel, with eyes that can grant her every desire.
"Rebekah, darling, I was just about to tell these lovely lady the trick i will like them to perform. Do not interrupt!" Mr. Klaus said annoyed.
"We do not have time for that, we need to get ready for the ball, and unfortunately you do not have a date, so we need to go find you one." As Ms. Mikaelson starts walking away she turned slowly as if an idea popped up in her head. "Wait a minute. There is three beautiful ladies here, and one of them can be your date. This can save us so much time."
Klaus reverts his attention back at us. More specifically me. My heart beats rapidly as the goosebumps arrives. Is he going to ask me?
