I pushed Chloe away as I held my grandmother's wrinkled and weak hand tightly. She sat up on her deathbed and wiped my tears. I started sobbing. Chloe stood there, legs and knees shaking as she was holding her sparkly pink purse and covering her mouth with her free hand. Chloe held her tears. She really felt bad for me. Eventually, we had to leave for school.
7:38 AM.
The Doctor harshly pushed Chloe and I out of the room, and the Hospital building itself. I shivered, and sobbed harder. I layed my head on Chloe's shoulders as she patted me. "Don't worry, Lauren. I'll be by your side." Chloe promised. I know she's trying to make me feel better, but it somehow isn't working. It usually always works. We slowly walked to school, as if we were tip toeing. This emotional pain... Is excruciating. I need some comfort food right now. We don't have time for that, though. School is starting in 25 minutes. My grandmother is the only family I have left. I acted aloof. Even Chloe noticed. "Hey, Lauren...?" Chloe whispered. "Are.. are you alright? You're acting we-" "No. I'm not okay," I snapped, guilt and rage rushing through my body. "I... I don't need your worthless pity." Chloe hesitated from me, and she gulped. She let go of my shoulder. "Alright... I-I understand... You... n-need your space..." I might've been too harsh. I sighed. "Chloe, I didn't mean to-" "I said It's fine." Chloe interrupted. I felt my sins crawling on my back.
"I-I know it's hard for you. I would've done the same if the same thing happened to me..." Chloe added as she opened her arms and I just fell on her chest, crying my eyes out. "Th-thanks.... But I should control my anger a bit better..." I murmured.
3:00 PM.
Thank goodness school is over. I was sweating and holding back my tears there, I don't know what would happen if my classmates see me cry. They would laugh at me.
"Welp," Chloe announces. "Can't worry my bro. Gotta take him to his after-school games. See you, Lauru!" I hate it when she calls me 'Lauru'... But, I just can't stay mad at her. She echoed goodbye and waved her hand as she was running to the bus stop. I flinched my hand to cover my mouth and giggled as Chloe tripped and almost forgets her navy blue, pink and light-blue starred backpack.
7:06 PM.
I layed on my bed and stared deeply to the ceiling of my room. I turned and looked at the stars on my ceiling, glowing because it was so dark in my room. Then I was struck with a flashback.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
"I want the stars right there, Donnie!"
"Lauren, please don't tire out your grandmother.'
"But mom-
"It's okay, my old bones can work for my baby bear~"
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
As the flashback faded I could hear the echoes of me and my grandmother's laughter. I hiccuped. The flashback faded completely, I was still staring at the stars. I was thinking about the flashback even more. I was only 7 years old when that happened. That was 10 years ago.
I started sobbing softly. Then a tear ran down my hot cheeks. I cried. I cried and I felt myself getting dehydrated. I was crying a river. I don't want to lose another family member. I just couldn't accept it- I won't accept it. I made a fist and hovered my left eye with it.
RING! RING! Was it Chloe ringing my cell? I shakily grabbed my cell and answered.
"H-hello...?"
...
"Hello hello? Um... Sorry to say this but your grandmother is having a funeral tomorrow. Sorry for your loss."
"W-wai-"It wasn't Chloe. They hung up on me. "NOOOO!" I screamed. I threw my cell across the room and covered my face in my pillow. My pillow was wet from my tears. Eventually, I fell asleep crying.
7:00 AM.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BE- I silenced my alarm. I rubbed my eyes and stretched. Was it a dream? Chloe texted.
"Hey, coming to the funeral...?"
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
"Please don't leave me, mommy....."
"Don't worry hun. Your grandmother will be with you. Always I promise."
"H-hey.. Mommy....? Are you.... Crying......?
"I will always be in your heart. Always remember that, dearie....."
"What do you mean by that? Wait, mommy! Don't leave...."-----

I eventually moved on.
