Chapter One

Introduction.

Clock's ticking. What a great way to start out this story. The sound so quiet yet something to nag at your eardrums. I hated the sound so much. For me, it was like the scratching of nails on a chalkboard. My eyes drifted to the teacher in front of me. She was obviously on tenure, a law made for public school teachers so they can't be fired easily after a certain amount of years as a teacher.

Ms. Grace was not a good teacher. The scowl she sent me as I stared quickly got me to snap my attention back on my paper. I was already finished with my test but I knew she wouldn't want me to bother her. I quietly pick up my binder and pull out my journal. I begun scribbling down all my thoughts of the day so far. It was my last class for the day and I was quite excited for school to be over. Tomorrow was the last day before weekend. Everyone was excited, of course. On Fridays we didn't have to wear uniforms. So, you can imagine all the girls gossiping about what they were going to wear.

I felt a pair of piercing eyes from somewhere. I look around the classroom until I spot green eyes. Kendall smiles at me, giving a nod towards directly behind me. I flip around in my chair, seeing Carson staring at me and smiling. He slides a note up his desk and I discreetly bring it between my fingers. I turn back around and fumble with it, unfolding the small scrap paper and read. 'Kendall and I want to go to the movies Friday, wanna come? It wouldn't be the same without you'

I turn to glance at Kendall and then Carson. I smile, nodding my head. They grin and we all just focus on whatever we are doing with out stuff to pass time. I continue writing in my journal. I was a pretty shy girl. I had been homeschooled most of my life and began school in tenth grade. I already knew Kendall, my best friend. She introduced me to Carson who she and I eventually became close friends with.

We all loved to hang out. Carson was pretty out-going and very polite. Good loving fun person to be around. Kendall was shy around some other students but quite confident with people she's never met or seen before. I was complete opposite. I was confident with my friends, overly shy with strangers.

Kendall has blonde hair, long and green eyes. She was a very sweet loving person who anyone could go talk to at a deep level of conversation. She gives amazing advice and I'm lucky to have her for a best friend.

Carson had brown hair, brown eyes and girls loved him. He was very humble about it though, oblivious to any female attention. He usually crushed on one girl. And currently, that girl was Hanna Phelps. She was Kendall and my friend, but she and I never were super close.

Sad for Carson, she was dating Neil Hold. The most popular boy in school. He was a knock-out and very possessive of her. He had a reputation of a player but he zoned in and is very loyal to Hanna. They did make an adorable couple. But Carson just wouldn't give up. To make things worse for him, she hated his guys for some reason.

Hanna had blonde hair that was naturally almost white as snow, green eyes and short, very skinny. She was very sweet, but you had to get to know her to see the kind side. First impression was she's very out-going and hilarious. She had sharp attitude but she loved Neil to pieces and she seemed to change around him. They both did, in fact. It was like turning on a lightbulb. Hearts in their eyes and all their lovey dovey talk made a lot of us sick. Their were bound for moving in together and getting engaged after they graduate.

Kendall and I wanted that, of course, with good guys. Kendall is currently in a relationship with Keaton Collins. He was that very attractive, party boy. Great morals and he really cared about her. They've been dating for about a year now and all of us find their relationship adorable.

And then there's me. Annabella Harper. I had long chocolate brown hair, brown eyes and light skin. In ways, Carson and I look related. Like I said before, I'm shy. But I can be quite confident when I'm caught up in the moment. But enough about me and everyone, back to the story.

This is how it all started. Now that you know most of the main people involved in what happens next, it's time to go back to day one. Sitting in that muggy classroom, writing in my journal. It was a regular day at Clinton High school. I had no idea what would happen in that weekend that would change everything. But enough of me talking about it...

Enjoy the story.
