Yes!!!!!!! I got an A- on my English test. I was repeatedly thinking this as walked home. It had turned out to be a perfect day. My crush likes me, I got a God grade and tonight I will get to cut lose and be free. What more could I ask for. Just then, I saw something out of the corner of my eye. Tensing, I reached for my Swiss army knife in the side pocket of my purse. But after about 2 minutes, nothing happened. Stupid, paranoid me. Angel, there is no one there. You just imagined it. You cut free of them a long time ago. And with that I continued on my way home.
"Hey baby how was school?" my mother asked as I walked into the kitchen.
"It was good." I said as kissed her head. " I got an A on my English exam."
"Well that's amazing sweetheart. Now I know that you are going to that club tonight, and that you weren't planning on telling me." Crap. I have been busted.
"Look Mom I can expl-"
"I am fine with you going." She said calmly. Wait, what. Mom's are not supposed to be fine with their daughters going to clubs. They are supposed to forbid it, and then cause their child to sneek out a window. Not give their consent.
"Look the thing is, I know that you will go any way even if I don't give my consent. And then, if something happens, you will sneak back and concoct a lie that leaves out important details. This way you can call me without having to worry about punishment. Plus, you will be acting like a person your age for the first time in 3 years. Your 18. Go out and have fun."
I. Was. Speechless. Again! My mom just did the best thing ever. " Mom I love you. You are the greatest parent anyone could ever hope for."
