MY DREAM

I stood out in the sun today,

to dry my wet damp hair.

And as the wind swept by my face,

I remembered what I'd dreamt yesterday.

It was a land of smoke,

violence in particular.

I saw nothing but hatred everywhere,

and surprisingly no one bothered to care.

I wondered if I was in some war zone,

but no, because even little ones held guns.

Taking a deep breath I walk more,

to find people hurt yet fighting to the core.

One gun shot, and I snapped back into reality,

realizing it was only a dream.

Although the heat pricked my skin,

I stood there in the sun,

realizing how true my dream was.

Today, the whole world is not filled with violence,

but with jealousy and anger,

and I'm afraid it'll one day turn like the one in my dream.

Hatred brings disrespect,

but love brings you a warm broad smile,

that melts your heart at the sight of it.

Encourage instead of discouraging,

love one another instead of hating each other,

smile instead of getting angry,

hug instead of hitting someone,

and finally say 'I love you' instead of harsh words.

Taking baby steps is all it needs,

for this world to live in harmony and peace.

Find yourself more friends,

and it starts with you being one.
