Prologue
"Shit!" I hissed to myself, as I lifted my right palm to the middle of my forehead, the pounding unbearable to resist. As I stood up from what I saw, a forest floor full of tiny grey twigs and little earth worms, I looked at the frighting sight of my arms. Black and dried ebony red long scar lines reached across from my elbows to the palms of my hands.
"What the hell?" I said to my self. As I finished picking myself up from the ground, I finally noticed I had been wearing a white long garmnent on my body. It hung around me almost like a robe. As I felt a pinch of the soft, rich, satin garnment, my heart began to thump hard repeatedly. The murdering headache i was still in pain from began to thump even harder now, as if their was livestock living inside my brain. The pounding in my brain was so hard the last thing I knew was that I fell back down on the solid and cold ground of the forest, and also I think I remembered hearing a few twigs snap behind me in the bushes...as if someone had been watching me....
I slowly lifted my heavy eye lids, the shinning bright orange mist of the sun gleaming down my face. I yawned a very deep yawn, and slowly got up from what was now spiky light green grass. As I looked around me, my eyes grew huge, seeing the sight of Middleton High's football field...my school's football field.
"Ayo', Trevor pass the ball," said a boy I knew from my AP english class named Kevin. Kevin was a middle class student, meaning he wasn't popular but he wasn't unpopular, and also he was on the lacrosse team. Kevin waved his hands in the air as a relunctant, nervous looking Trevor, was about to thrust the ball. Hmmmm...Trevor? Where do I know him from? Oh yeah. He's that kid who sits with these two other nerdy sophmores near the dumpsters and he was in my Biology class last year. Trevor wasn't a very popular guy at school obviously and he seemed very timid.
I had noticed I was still in the white garment like before when I was in the woods and quickly places my pale snow-white small hands onto my thin shoulder. What if people saw me like this? What my friends and my boyfriend saw me like this? What would they say? I couldnt lose my social status. At least Kevin and Trevor seemed not to care. I swifty walked across the football field but then all of a sudden when I turned my blonde head full of curls to the left, a chocolate brown football came thrusting at me, but luckily I had ducked down, my knees thrushing in on the fresh cut grass.
"Watch where your going, Losers!" I shouted across from Trevor and Kevin. Trevor and Kevin just ignored me, as if nothing had ever happened. I could feel my pale face turning into tomato red as I marched right up to Trevor and Kevin.
"Are you deaf?" I began to screech. I flipped my curl gold-blonde head from thin shoulders and crossed my arms. "you guys are so lucky that stupid football didn't hit me," I yelled across from Kevins face.
"Trevor, my man, you need to work on your throws," said Kevin as he passed the ball back to Trevor. "Remember always use both hands and lean back a little bit. Im gonna make sure we make it to the football team this year."
"ughhhhhh!" I screeched louder. I stomped closer to Kevin. "Hell-low! when the pretty and perfect popular girl is talking to you, you have to listen. Everybody knows that, even the teachers," I said flipping my hair off my shoulders a secound time. I smiled slyly and giggled a little bit knowing what would come next. These losers would probably beg for forgiveness and if I was lucky, they would be willing to do some of my assignments for me.
"I got you, man. Both hands on the ball and lean back a bit," Trevor yelled as he backed farther from the field to throw the ball to Kevin. It was like as if these two morons couldnt hear me.
"That's becuase they can't," said an older voice behind me, almost like one of thise queen Latifah voices in BET movies. I slowly whipped my head around and gasped only to find a tall, middle-aged beautiful looking woman in the same white garnment at me staring me down, a whole heartedly smile stretched across her face. She had jet black long natural curly hair, smooth caramel skin that glistened in the deep rays of the sunlight, and bright green emerald eyes that seemed lively but almost at the same time tired. My heart thumped even more than earlier at the sight of this woman. The silence had been quite akward for a moment, but luckily I was the first to break this unessesary tension. I combed my fingers through my hair nervously as I began to open my mouth slowly.
"Um...who are you?" I said slowly but nervously at the same time. The woman had a very friendly smile on her face and smoothed out her long curly hair. "This may be overwhelming dear but...I am...well was...your gurdian angel."
All of a sudden, the headache from earlier hit me again, pounding harder than the last time and causing me to fall down onto the grass and shut my eyes...
