“Run! Run as fast you can!” Was the last words of his father running through the young boy’s mind as he maneuvered himself around in the dark jungle. The sounds of gunfire could still be heard along the the terrifying screams that made the boy’s blood run cold. His breath hitched when he heard the shrieks of the demonios veloces that are tearing those men and women apart. He hid behind a tree and tried to control his breathing but his heart was pounding furiously in his chest, that's when he finally noticed the silence, no gunfire, no screams or the shrieks.
The forest was deathly quiet and almost seemed deafening to the boy's ears as he desperately searched around for any of the demonios in the darkness. A twig snapped not too far from him and his eyes widened in fear as he bolted from his hiding place next to the tree just he heard a very loud shriek and quick heavy footsteps following behind him. The leaves began to leave small cuts around his tanned skin and his feet ached from running in his bare feet the rough terrain. It wasn’t long till he saw a flashing red light and knew it was the radio tower. He heard more shrieks and growls and knew that the demonios veloces were closing in on him and it wouldn’t be long before he was a gonner.
"Almost there!” He muttered to himself and pushed his tired body through the final brush into the clearing showing the radio station surrounded by a steel fence as its perimeter, it had a slidable gate at the front and with all his might pushed himself till he finally made it through and he quickly shutted the gate and it locked with a audible click. The young child finally collapsed to his knees taking deep heavy breaths as his body shook with adrenaline as he tried to calm himself once again.
The moment vanished when something slammed into the fence causing the boy to look up in fright and meet with a yellow eye that glistened in the moonlight, he could see its teeth as it tried to chew threw the fence. He backed up away from the fence and he saw two more run out of the brushes. One of them let out a loud shriek as it jumped on the fence its head peering over at him, saliva dripping down its lower jaw as it glared at him hungrily. The boy’s skinned paled as he looked frantically for a place to hide and saw the door into the station and ran toward it not looking back as one of them managed to climb over the steel fence and chased after him with its arms spread out revealing the three long curved claws that could shred flesh like paper. It let out a loud shriek as it began running on it two powerful back legs, claws digging into the dark earth to get more friction as the boy closed the door moments as the creature rammed its head into it and backed up shaking its head in surprise just as the other two made it over the fence and now stood in front of the door in anticipation before the leader of the group charged ramming itself against the door. One by one they took turns hitting the door leaving a dent but it wouldn’t budge.
The noise outside was scaring the boy as he jumped each time the door jolted a bit as he tried to work the radio. Their growls grew more verocious with each passing minute as he tried to get a better signal, sweat ran down the sides of his face as he finally heard a voice on the radio and was suddenly relieved but the shrieks behind the door made him on edge as he grabbed the microphone.
“Socorro! Socorro! Estoy en problemas, por favor, sálvame!” He shouted before the steel door busted of its hinges revealing three pairs of yellow eyes at the doorway their sharp claws scraping across the ground as they looked him in anticipation, foaming saliva was slowly sliding down on of their jaws as they panted puffs of hot air. The boy’s spine went stif in fear as he knew that this would be his final moments.
