"Oh my god!" Some girl screamed, and covered her mouth with pale hands.

More screams and whispers were heard. Everyone's attention was on whatever was going on in the middle of the crowded corridor. The students had formed a circle, covering my sight from it.

I sighed and started to push my way through. Nobody payed mind to me, their eyes and minds were stuck. Everyone stood still, it was like time was frozen.

I squeezed my way pass two tall guys, and was finally able to see what was going on. My eyes flickered between the two boys.

What the hell?

A skinny boy was lying on the floor. There was blood splattered around him, I saw some dripping from his mouth too.

The other boy was standing up. The first thing that caught my eyes was his sick grin. The second thing was the bloody knife in his hand. The third thing was that this fucking thing was a crime scene

I started to realise what the fuck had happened, and I panicked. He had killed him. I looked to my left, everyone was starring, then to my right, the exact same. Nobody dared to make a move.

I heard someone come running from behind, the footsteps breaking through the silence. I turned around to see my math teacher, Kent, come running.

When he made it to the crowd everyone made space for him, and he quickly walked through the path. When he saw what had happened he stopped, and starred. But, unlike everyone else, he acted. He pulled out his phone and called, what I suppose was 911.

Everything was just so weird. The kid with the knife just stood there, grinning like a maniac. He was a maniac. But, why didn't he do anything? Why did he just let Kent call the police?

My mind rushed through all the possibilities of plans the murderer could have had. I didn't want to risk my life, so I roughly pushed my way out of the circle of students, and ran. I just ran through the corridor, wanting to get away as soon as possible, and find someone I knew. I didn't want to be alone.

Some others seemed to have woken up from their shock too, because I heard people come running after me. I heard screams. And I heard Kent's voice, trying to calm everyone down. No succés, which was understandable. It wasn't everyday you saw a corpse.

Everything was just too much. I couldn't even believe what had just happened. It must be some sick prank, right? But, it didn't seem like a joke. There was no fun in it at all. And everyone was clearly shocked and scared. Nobody came up and told us to say hi to Youtube.

My heart was pumping, tears were pouring down my cheeks, and I was running really fast. It felt like the killer would come after me, and kill me.

I made it down the corridor, and to my relief I saw Sebastian, my best friend, standing there. I smiled, even though it was very weird to be able to smile after what I saw. I wiped the tears away with the sleeves of my sweater.

"Hedvig! What the hell happened? Where is everyone? Have I missed something? Why are you crying?" He attacked me with questions as I stopped in front of him, trying to catch my breath.

"Seb. There is a fucking corpse," I managed to say on top of my breath.

He laughed and patted my back, "ha ha, it's not time for April fools yet, hun."

As my breathing got somewhat steady again I shot him a glare and told him with my most serious voice: "It's not a fucking joke. There was a guy, with a knife in his hand, a guy was lying on the floor. And blood. And .... we have to get the fuck out of here!"

Sebastian's eyes widened, his face turned pale. He slowly whispered the words 'what the fuck' over and over, while starring at the other students who came running through the corridor. Looks like he believed me.

I grabbed his hand, and pulled him with me. We needed to get out of there.

We followed a group of girls to the closest door. Everyone was trying to get out at the same time, which ended up in chaos. People got hurt while they tried to push their way through the small door.

I decided to wait until they got out, even though I really wanted to get out. Now.

Sebastian nervously glanced behind us, as we impatiently waited for the screaming girls to get out. The corridor was pretty much empty, but you could still see Kent talking on his phone. He was pacing back and forth, you could see that he was scared as hell. I could imagine the sweat dripping down his face.

Finally, the girls got out, and Sebastian and I hurried after them.

The schoolyard was crowded, panicked students running all around, not knowing where to go. At the parking lot there was an ambulance and two police cars.

A police officer tried to calm the students down, but to no luck. Nobody seemed to notice that he was trying to communicate with them, because they just kept talking, screaming and running around.

Sebastian and I stood in front of the sea of students.

They looked like a big shoal of fish. Small, scared, defenceless fishes, getting attacked by a big shark.

I fell down on my knees. What the hell was going on?
