Austin's POV
My nose was still hurting from when that bitch punched me. My football team, Velocity, was practicing but because of my nose, Coach put me on the bench for now. Thanks to that bitch.
"Hey Austin. Coach wants to meet with you." My best friend Shane shouted as he was walking towards me.
"You know why?"
He shook his head and shrugged, "Nope." He took a closer look at my nose. "Man can she punch....Kinda hot. " He smirked.
"No,not hot at all. Not when your the one being punched."
"To be honest you did kind of deserve it."
If looks could kill.
"I mean cmon, did you see those poor jeans? You absolutely ruined them. I feel kinda bad for them." He starts laughing. I smile and shake my head as I walk past him. I head towards Coach's office and knock.
"Come in, Austin." I walk in and see a sad and disappointed face. "We need to talk."
"What is it, Coach?" I say as nerves spread through my body.
"Your our best player."
"Thanks. Means a lot."
"And as much as I hate sayin this, If you don't get your grades up. I'm afraid we will have to kick you off the team no matter what."
"What? My grades aren't that bad."
" Ds? What about that F in English? Look, We can't have failing kids in football. School won't allow it. It reflects badly on the image of our school. But what they will allow is a few months to get your grades up. And if you do, you've got nothing to worry about. Mr. Stykes wants to talk to you about it tomorrow. I'm sorry, son."
I can't really say anything, Football means everything to me. It's the only thing I can really depend on in my messed up life. How am I going to bring my grades up? I don't have anywhere to study, and no friends really smart enough to tutor me. And that would be bad for my image. I guess I could pay some nerd to but what good will that do? I hate those dorks anyways so spending more time with them isn't appealing. As I'm walking out the door, I ask myself, "What the hell am I going to do?"

Nicky's POV
I ran home, and considering I was on track that was pretty fast. I snuck through the back door trying not to make any noise in case my mom was home. I waited quietly on the stairs and listened to hear the familiar sounds of my mom. Silence greeted me. I sighed in relief. The rest of the day I spent cleaning out my closet, listening to my favorite tunes and finally feeling happy for once in a long time despite knowing what I would face tomorrow.
