Had this on my mind  for a while now...

~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***
                  She past by the waiting room, stealing a glance of a random stranger sitting down on a chair and smiling at another one who had just brushed past her. After straightening her shirt, she removes her ring and places it in her pocket. Then, she entered his private room.
                She looked at him as he was lying on his bed. He was playing with a rubics cube, mumbling out complains if ever he fumbles the cube wrong. She laughed at how cute he was right then and there. It was her laughter that caused him to look up at her. When their eyes met, they smiled at one another.
                “Who are you?” He asked politely, putting the unfinished rubics cube on top of his end table.
                “Hello, Reid. My name is Nixie and I’ll be with you for the day.”
                “Hello, Nixie. Nice to meet you.”
                “Nice to meet you too, Reid. Do you want to do something today?”
                He began thinking. She looked at him, the way he is now. The way his body was resting on the hospital bed. The way he looked so weak with the dextrose tube connected to his right arm. The way he softly smiles at her as she held his hand gently. She smiled back as she held her tears back.
                “Will you tell me a story?” He finally answered.
                “A story?” She asked.
                “Yes.” He said as he slowly shifted his position to a more comfortable state. He had been in this rusty, hospital bed for almost 3 months already; his back ached from the state of it and his lungs yearned for the clean oxygen outside of this decaying private room.
                “But, what story?” She asked again. He shrugged and replied,
                “Your favorite story.”
                “Oh I see. Okay then.” She said as she reminiscently remembers the story, the story about the delinquent boy and rich girl. She cleared her throat and began,
                “The story begins on a normal hot summer afternoon. John had just finished his month of penalty since the drowning incident. It happened the month before when he pushed Eric, an underclassman, on their school swimming pool. Well, it wasn’t his fault that he didn’t know Eric couldn’t swim. Likewise, it wasn’t his fault when Eric’s parents charged him for murder. Since he was still 15 years old, John can’t be put behind bars yet that’s why he was given 5 years of penalty that consisted of hard labor and community service.
                His parents were very much depressed of what he has become. A man of rebel and own will; uncontrollable and untamed.  They were not that surprised of what happened. They already know what John was capable of. When he was in middle school, he choked his classmate when his pencil wasn’t returned. See, no surprise to them at all.
                But his life suddenly changed when Monique aka little Miss Sunshine came to town. She went to the same high school as John. She was a daughter of a rich CEO and was quite well-known in the other towns. A lot of people like her. Heck, a lot of people love her. But not John. He hates her. He hates her a lot. He hates the way she smiles warmly at him, the way she greets him when they pass by one another, the way she makes everything okay. He hates it all. He hates it so much that he bullies her a lot. He hides her things and puts gum in her long chocolate hair.
