-Mister Investigator-
When Gray arrived at the office everybody was moving and going about, everybody seemed to be busy and panicking. He walked over to one of the officers Pamela who was also busy going over the files.
"You must be Gray, it's so good to see you! Boss is looking for you, he's right at his office!" Pamela said in a hurry and still looks over the files. Gray then proceeds to Thomas' office.
"You were looking for me sir?" Thomas looked at Gray and let out a loud sigh and says good bye to his caller.
"Gray! It's Tori she has done it again, we are going to the crime scene right now so I suggest you grab whatever you need to investigate and wheel's up in thirty!!" He said and started shouting out orders to the other officers.
"On it!" Gray then runs towards where Thomas went and started going to the crime scene.
A few minutes later they arrived at a local house, some police officers were already there putting up police tape to prevent the civilians to get inside the crime scene. One by one the officers started to get off the cars and went inside the scene. The moment Gray went inside, a very strong metallic smell filled his sense of smell. Blood.
"Gray you may start looking around for anything that can pinpoint where she could be. I'll be talking to the witnesses, you may ask them questions after you are done looking around," Thomas said, Gray gave a firm nod and started walking around the two-storey house.
He started first at where the crime had happened, her victim this time was a female in her mid-twenties and you can definitely see that Tori was here. With the way her eyes were gouged out, lips sliced off and the signature star on the left forearm. Gray grimaced at the site and continued looking around the house, police officers were scattered around the house looking for evidences and clues as well as for the reason why she is doing this.
Gray went back to the living room after looking around, there truly wasn't anything in particular, which was a bit unusual everything was where it was supposed to be. Everything was in place nothing was wrecked from the victim's bedroom and office, the only thing found was the weapon she used to murder her, a kitchen knife. He was deep in thought to why she would do something like this to her, it didn't look like they had any grudge against each other and they don't even know each other. So why would she do something like this. A small thud snapped Gray back to reality and looked out the window where a big tree was residing. He squinted his eyes and walked back, eyes wide seeing a pair of eyes looking straight at him grinning from ear to ear. Without any hesitations he went out of the house gathering attention.
He started running towards the tree where he saw her readying his gun, but the moment he arrived she was no longer there, he then heard a woman scream and a very distinct sound of a car tire screeched in the neighbourhood and got away. Gray muttered a string of curses and lowered his gun, Thomas then ran towards him.
"Gray what happened?!" Thomas said looking at Gray with a stern look, "You just ran out of the house like some kind of madman!"
"Sorry sir, it's just that I saw her by the tree so I immediately took action. But the moment I arrived she stole the neighbour's car and fled the scene." He replied, pissed off that she got away.
"Shit! Well we can't do anything about it, we just have to be more prepared when she strikes again and this time we won't let her get away." Thomas started going back, but stopped, "Just tell me if you see something else."
"Yes sir!" Thomas then went back to the house. "Motherfucker!!"
Gray was seriously pissed and started walking around thinking of how none of them has noticed that she was right under their nose. While doing so a small piece of paper fell from the tree where Tori was sitting, Gray noticed it and without a second glance grabbed it. He examined it first and saw blood splotches on it, when he turned the paper around and saw a note.
~You seemed new, I have never seen your face before. I guess the police needed more 'help' in trying to catch me. HAHAHAHA!! Well good luck mister investigator and may luck always be by your side! –Tori T.~
Gray crumpled the paper and growled, shoving the paper in his back pocket he went back towards the house.
"She's mocking me," He told himself and furrowed his brows "I swear to God, I will find her and prove how the 'help' is going to find and capture her."
He went back into the house and finished what he had to do, after everything he went inside his car and just drove around Forkshire then he finally stopped at a park. He let out a loud sigh and called Calcifer.
"Hello, Calcifer Cross here!" Calcifer said in his enthusiastic voice.
"Hey Cal, it's me Gray are you busy?"
"Not at all G, wassup?"
"The killer showed herself to me and I let her escape. She was right under our nose and we didn't notice! This is so infuriating!!" Gray grumbled and glared into the dark streets of Forkshire.
"Woah G calm yourself down, you do know not everyone gets everything done in the first day. But knowing you," Cal said and snickered at the last part, Gray rolled his eyes listening to his lightsome friend.
"I guess."
"Come on G, just don't give up on yourself you can do it. I mean I am, or should I say was, your partner, I've seen you do a lot of very out of this world stuff. You can do cases other investigators can't! So don't get yourself down, because you didn't notice she was there or not being able to catch her. Make this a challenge and prove to everyone that they chose the right person for this job!!" Gray gave a small smile listening to his friend, in all those 7 years in the force he was the only one who never pulled him down.
"Yeah, I shouldn't let this bring me down. I know I can take her down and bring justice to all those civilians she has killed for no apparent reason."
"That's the Gray Folklore I know!! Well G I have to go, I have a date with Erika see you."
"Alright take care and tell Erika I said hi."
"No problem G, go get her!" Gray ended the phone call, he then proceeds to go back to his apartment.
When he went inside his apartment he started going through Tori's files again to find anything in particular. Knowing how it is possible that she would just leave the car she stole somewhere won't give him any leads on finding her. He starts placing all the photographs of the victims and where they were killed in his cork board, he then thinks on how they could be related to pinpoint why these people were chosen. In all his life he never had a case that didn't have much information on almost everything. Gray then placed the picture of Tori in the middle of the board.
"Tori Thompson, I swear on my grave that I will get you!"
