Chapter 2

Yay!

--

Percy POV

"I don't deserve this! I just can't believe you, the king, would favor your son over a nation of people! Let me go out and meet them!" I was positively fuming as I yelled at my father. Oh and by the way I'm a prince.

Yeah, yeah your thinking," Woah your a prince?! I wish I was a prince!" But all in all, it's not that great. I mean you have all these lesson for "proper etiquette " and all these stupid things. I don't  even want this life. I just want to be a regular commoner, without everyone bowing to me and giving respect just because of my title.

The reason I was fighting with my father was because he said it was time for me to find a wife. And instead of letting me choose her, he's having a ball! I mean how low is that?!

All I want in a wife is a loving, caring, and modest lady. She doesn't have to be pretty, she just has to be true to her heart. I mean in a way it's a good idea, but I still want to choose my own wife.

Back to the fight with my dad. "You will attend the ball, and that is final!" my dad said with a huff and slammed the door.

Then my mom came in. My mom is the most lovable person in the whole world. She always smiles and I've never seen her get mad. She makes the best, emphasis on best, blue cookies. Why blue? you ask. It's my favorite color. I had a little argument with my dad, King Poseidon, who said food couldn't be blue. After that me and my mom went out of our way to make sure almost all of our food was blue. Blue waffles, blue pancakes, blue spaghetti, blue everything! Her name is Sally Jackson.

She asked," What happened here? It was about the ball wasn't it?" "Yeah it was" I sighed.

"How about this?" My mom chirped." I'll let go to the village and towns. You can look for a wife. If you find the one for you, invite her to the ball. If she doesn't show up I'll see how I can convince your father."

I positively glowed after hearing that." Oh my gods! Thank you so much mom!" Yeah I know I sound like a teenage girl but, hey cut me some slack, I haven't been out in the village in a while.
