"Off I go!" Jade Viltali said sarcastically. She was the opposite of most children at her age; unlike her sister Darling and her brother Demetrius, Jade did not bound through the entrance to platform 9 3/4.
Her mother's gaze fell upon her. "At least try to have fun this year! Do get good grades, sweetheart, and make sure to get into–"
"Anything but Slytherin," the three Viltali children chorused. Letting out a breath of air, she nodded. "Alright, line up you lot!"
She kissed each on the forehead, saving Jade for last. "Don't make any rash decisions, Jade Kathryn."
Jade nodded, not looking her mother in the eyes has she ran to the train; she was happy to finally get away from her mother, strangely. Her mother had always looked had her differently.
Ms. Viltali expected twins, however, she had gotten triplets. Without a doubt, Demetrius and Darling were her favorite. As much as Ms. Viltali claimed she didn't pick favorites–she did.
Jade was close with her father, it was easy to tell. She was the most like him, as well. While both her siblings got coal black hair and dusty hazel eyes, she had light brown hair and eyes, freckles dusting her face.
When Jade's father passed away, her demeanor changed; she had gone from a loud, carefree child to quiet, ambitious one. One of her many goals was to step away from her family's limelight and to own a book store.
Shaking her head, Jade ventured through the tiny halls of the train. Finding an empty one, her legs squeaked as they rubbed against the leather seats. Sitting, she opened up one of her favorite novels of all time; To Kill A Mockingbird.
Jade once again had become enthralled with the talks, not even noticing someone else coming in until the compartment door shut. She flinched slightly, looking up to meet the face of a blond haired girl. She huffed and rolled her eyes, before shouting an insult back at someone.
Finally, she looked at Jade. "Oh, sorry. I'm Olivia, nice to meet you!"
She smiles meekly, putting a strand of hair behind her ear. Jade studies her; a white beaded bracelet was on her wrist, a single black bead in the middle. Her eyes were an ocean blue, however, it seemed as though they could turn sky blue any second.
"Jade Viltali," she says hesitantly. Olivia's eyes widen. "As in daughter of Mandela and Curtis Viltali?"
Jade nods, crinkling her nose at the mention of her mother.
Her family was a long line of Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Gryffindor in that exact order. The cycle repeated itself for every Viltali that gets sorted. Other than that, her family is also made up of Aurors and Healers. Therefore, the name Viltali is quite known around the Wizarding World.
