Unexpected Good Fortune [Requested Assassin! x Edward]

I panted lightly as my brother and I free ran across the rooftops of [whatever area]. We were racing to see who was able to make it to the bureau (Apologies if I am incorrect about them having a bureau).
"I am so gonna beat you there, Luke!" I taunted him. He sighed and continued running, soon dropping into the bureau. I was about to do the same... until I fell. "Dammit!" I yelled as I came in contact with the ground. I groaned while laying on the ground. "Do you need help, miss?" A voice asked me. I opened my eyes and looked at the figure standing before me. His hand reaching down to me, which I took. "Thank you, sir," I say while still holding his hand, which he noticed. He pulled away slightly and I did the same, "Apologies..." I inhaled slowly and turned around. "Nice to meet you-" I turned back around. He spoke up, "Edward. Edward Kenway." I smiled, "Nice to meet you, Edward." I faced my back to him again, "See you around."

I walked around a corner, so I could climb up the wall. I jumped down the bureau and met with my brother and the Rafiq.

~Time Skip to Meeting Edward Again~

I went out on my daily night walk, since I never had the time to really take in the features when I came for missions. I walked out to the docks, not surprised to not see anyone there. I sat down on the edge, watching the beautiful and sparkling waves wash against the shore. I inhaled the salty scent, enjoying the sight before me. What I didn't know, was a figure was watching behind me. "Nice view isn't it?" He asks, making me almost fall off the dock. "Bastard!" I yell out, turning around to see Edward. He only chuckled and smirked, while stood up. "What are you doing out here at this time of night?" He questioned, walking towards me slowly. I wasn't necessarily the cautious one, and stayed in my spot, not that I had much to move except to my left or right. This made his smirk grow. "Just enjoying the ocean," I admitted. He nodded and looked at my robes, "You don't look like you're around from here, are you?" I slightly tilted my head, "Why do you ask?" He got close to my face, "You never know what might happen~" I blushed slightly, "I'm sure I could take care of m-myself.."

He looked me in the eye, "Oh really?" As he whispered this, I pushed back, but I started to fall. Just before I wasn't touching the dock anymore, he had wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me upwards. "Doesn't seem like it.." I shoved myself out of his grip, "I am fully c-capable of handling myself!" He chuckled, "Okay, prove it." I glared at him, looking him up and down. He was honestly not too bad looking. "I needn't prove myself to a, what, a pirate?" He nodded, "Yes actually." (I'm a suuuppperr sorry if I am incorrect XD) I sighed, "What do you want, Kenway?" His smirk turned into a smile, "To get to know you, perhaps?" I smirked, which broke into a small laugh. "Fine," I looked at him, "You may get your chance."

~Three Years Later~

It had been three years since I met Edward, and I haven't regretted any moment. I had fallen for the pirate, actually. He was pretty kind, usually the 'serious-type', and he liked to flirt sometimes. Today was the day I was going to attempt to tell him my feelings.

Luke and I were out and had the day off from any missions, so we went to visit Edward. Luke wasn't too big of a fan of him, not that he really had any interests in anyone. When we finally arrived, I went to look for him while Luke decided to talk to the Rafiq. I saw him looking at the ocean like I was the second time we met. I sat down beside him, not startling him. It surprised me a bit, it was almost like he expected me to be there. "Hey Edward," I greeted, kicking my legs. "Hello, [Y/N]," he replied, looking out at the ocean still. I inhaled, debating I should just blurt out my feelings for him or not. I mean, he never had shown any kind of affection that was intentional since the one night. "Hey.... Kenway?" He looked over at me this time, "Yes?" I shoved my face into the shoulder part of my robes, "I.. I have to tell you something." He chuckled, "That is?"

"I... like you," I started to stand, thinking he would go off on me or even shove me into the water (Jeez, that would be harsh XD). He grabbed onto my leg, stopping me from going anywhere. "What was that, [Your Last Name]?" He was really going to make repeat it? "Look, Edward, I... I like you. More than a friend or acquaintance or whatever I am to you!" I looked down at him in shame. He stood up to hover over me, like he usually does (Let's be real, a lot of guys are taller than females-). "[Y/N]..." He said, looking at my blushing face. I shut my eyes tightly, "I know... It was f-foolish of me to even think you'd l-like m-" Before I could even finish my sentence, he placed his dominant hand on my chin. He was hesitant, but he kissed me. I squeaked in the kiss, but relaxed and kissed back.

All of a sudden, we heard clapping beside of us. We broke the kiss, snapping our heads to the direction of the claps. "Luke!!" I yelped, blushing as he smirked. "Aye, it was bound to happen," was all he said. "Don't tell the Grand Master," I pleaded. He waved it off, "I don't care, [Y\N]." I smiled and hugged him, "Thank you, brother!"

Afterwards, Edward and I held hands and watched the waves the rest of the day and talked. "Thank you for not hating me, Kenway," I randomly said and hesitantly rested my head against his shoulder. He tensed up, but wrapped an arm around me. "Why would I do that?" He asked. I shrugged, "I'm not that great, let's be honest." He looked down at me as I still looked out at the ocean. He pulled me closer and slowly kissed the top of my head, "I wouldn't dare." I smiled and pecked his cheek.

"I love you, Edward."
