I stared into the mirror, looking deep into my own reflection. It doesn't look right. I thought to myself. I didn't have time to worry about my appearance now, I needed to focus! Specific dates and facts zipped past my head as I paced around the bathroom. My eyes were drawn towards my makeup bag. "Alright then, I'll wear some to increase my confidence," I said to no one in particular. I flipped through my bag, looking for an appropriate color to wear. After at least five minutes, I stumbled across a deep red. It was not a shade I used often, considering that I was a very quiet person that did not like to draw attention, I was mostly drawn towards the nude tones. Yet, it was screaming for me to wear it. I looked at the bottom of the tube, on it was a label that read 'Csárdás'. Name suit the shade perfectly, the composition of Csárdás was intended to be be very sultrily. Red was the color of passion, and was often affiliated with sexiness, I was the very opposite. Yet, I felt like wearing it. I decided to go with my gut feeling. I unscrewed the top and pulled out the wand. Holding it up to my lips, I spread the creamy formula on, there was no point in overthinking anything.
After a good thirty minutes, I arrived at the building to find a parking spot. From my Peripheral vision, I could see a car leaving its parking space and I immediately took it. This is going well... I thought. I exited the door and walked to the building's glass doors.
Steadily, I drew in a breath and pushed the door open; it didn't budge. Wow, good job Adeline, you can't even open a damn door, how will you ever survive in the working world? Shaking my head, I mentally scolded myself for my inactiveness. I heaved a heavy sigh as I pulled the door open.
I was greeted by a girl around the same age as me. She looks up without a smile. "You must be here for the interview," she said.
I nodded with a smile. "Yes, I'm Adeline." I gave a slight wave.
"Alright, his office on the 25th floor." Her voice was cheery as she gave me a slip of paper.
I hurriedly left the desk and made my way towards the elevator. The doors of the elevator opened slowly. I walked into the small room and pushed the button to the 25th floor and waited.
The doors opened again to reveal a large office-space. The room's atmosphere was dull, boring. He must be a boring person then... I thought about what kind of person my interviewer would be.
"You must be Adeline." A voice called out to me from the other side of the room. I turned my head to the direction of the voice; greeted by a pair of beautiful, hazel eyes. An intense heat rushed to my cheeks, he was so handsome!
"Y-yes, I am Adeline Valsecchi." I shifted my eyes to the floor.
"Well, time really does fly, doesn't it?" He said. His words confused me.
"Excuse me? I didn't understand you, please elaborate." He looked at me intensely.
"Adeline Valsecchi, class of (insert arbitrary year here). Graduated from Harvard Business school." He stared a my records. "Valedictorian," He added.
"I graduated 2 years before your class, also valedictorian." He motioned for me to come closer.
"Apologizes for asking, but other than the records presented to you, how do you know me? You said 'time really does fly'. It sounds like you know me." I tried to sound as professional as possible.
He stepped closer and closer to me. Then, he finally stopped a few inches in front of me. He opened his mouth to speak: "I've admired you."
