Prologue
Abby was just a normal 17 year old girl until her life was completely thrown upside down after the surprising tragic death of her mother and father in a high impact car accident. With no other relatives around to take care of her she has to lie about her age and move into an apartment to avoid going into foster care. She has to learn to grow up fast in the judging gossiping and unforgiving city of Arona Hills.
I woke up cold in the small apartment. Rain was coming down hard out side the window beside my bed. My alarm clock was blaring 7:03 in the bright alarming red font. "The rain must of woken me up". I
Flung my feet off the bed and into my slippers. The chilly air caused me to grab my blanket and wrap it tightly around my shoulders as I trudged out of my room and into the kitchen
"Why are you up so early?" Alana asked while twirling a piece of her long brown hair around her finger.
"I have know clue, guess it was the rain. Any ways what are you cooking?"
"Eggs. Would you like some?"
"I think I will pass", I said with a yawn as I opened the pantry to pull out a strawberry pop tart.
"Are the others up yet?"
"Corey left to go run about thirty minutes ago. I think Madison is still sleeping"
"Not surprising" I walked around the book case that divided the kitchen from the living room and took a seat on the white couch. The tv was playing a rerun of Friends. Alana was glaring at it from the kitchen like her life depended on it.
"Don't you dare change it. This is like my favorite episode."
"You say that about every show." I yelled as I stuffed a bite of my pop tart into my mouth.
After finishing I got up from the couch, tossed the wrapper into the trash, and headed towards Madison's room.
"How are you feeling honey?" I whispered to Maddison as I sat down on her bed and lightly shook her."
She rolled around on her bed, yawned, opened her tired eyes, and placed her hands on her swollen belly. "Fine just a little nauseous."
"Ok good I am glad your feeling alright. I think Alana made some eggs if your hungry."
I stood up and started towards the door.
"Wait! Do you think I could talk to you?"
"Uh sure" I sat back down on her bed
"I'm scared."
"Of?"
"This whole pregnancy! I have no idea what I'm doing or were I'm going in my life. I mean I am as scared as hell that when this baby comes I can't even afford him. I'm 6 months along and in only three months I will be a mother! Do you know how much pressure that is."
"No but I can imagine that being pregnant at 17 isn't the easiest thing to deal with." You jus..."
She broke out in tears.
"Your riigghht -sniff- ittsssss notttt."
"Aw Maddie!" I said as I layed down next to her and hugged her.
"You do have your life together Maddison, you are going to go to college get a job and find a husband."
"Ittssss -sniff- nottt thaatttt easy."
"Your right it's not, it's somthing you have to work for and I know you can do it and besides I have never met a pregnant teen living in her own apartment.
She sniffed and wiped her tears away.
"It's not my apparent we all share it"
"Same thing" I said as I got up from her bed. "Come on lets go baby clothes shoping".
"But just remember me Alana and Corey will always be here for support."
