The space car wobbled a bit as it made its way to earth. The occupants a drunk man and woman both about the age of sixty went on in silence. He nursed a leg wound in the back seat while she flipped through the stations on the radio. It wasn't the fact that they had just escaped another attempt on their lives by the federation that brought about such awkwardness. They were used to that. It was the newly revealed information. Finally she spoke. I knew you were married at one point but why didn't you tell me you had a family? It wasn't important. She parked in a deserted lot slamming the break so he flew forward. OW! You BITCH! He screamed before jumping out of the car. She flew through the car and out the passenger side door. Before he could hobble away Rick was snatched up by the collar. Not important! how in the hell is your family not important!! It doesn't matter anyway I'm wanted by the federation I can't see them! He protested trying to balance on his good leg. She paused thinking for a moment. How long has it been since you saw them? Years lots and lots of years. He looked down and for the first time (Y/N) saw Rick look ashamed. She wrapped her arm around his waste and helped him into the passenger seat. The vehicle rumbled slightly before rising. Where do they live now? She turned skyward and sped up. He just stared out the window drinking. Rick? Finally he looked at her. Will you leave me alone if I don't? No. He took one last swig before tossing the empty bottle into the back seat. As soon as he finished telling her the car did a sharp U-turn and sped back down. What the hell!!! Rick tried to take the wheel realizing her plan! Now it may not seem like much but being slightly more sober and uninjured can make a huge difference. She held the flailing raging Rick against the door with her foot and drove. By the time they parked in the alleyway behind the home of Jerry and Beth smith the scientist was panting and limp. His eyes still holding a burning hatred for the position he had been put in. She took the keys shoved them into her inner coat pocket and hopped out. Rick tried to hot wire the car but was dragged out by his bad leg. What the hell is wrong with you let go! He whisper yelled flailing again. Remember that favor you owe me? What about it? He shoved her off glaring suspiciously. Her smile was gentle and loving but had a hint of devilish thrill as she set him against the car. Rick I lost my family forever that's how I got into this life but you still have yours you still have a chance to be there! Rick was speechless (Y/N) had never been open with him before sure she'd been honest but other than the time they spent together he didn't know her. Fine. It was rare to see Rick unsure and defeated. They sat for another moment and then she pulled him up after her. They walked around to the front and she turned to leave. Rick grabbed her. Hey! Where do you think your going! Your the asshole who got me into this mess! Speaking between laughs (Y/N) said It's like you said we are wanted by the Feds and if having one terrorist in there midst is dangerous just think what will happen if we both stick around! Rick didn't let go. He squeezed her arm like he was trying to make sure that she was real or more accurately really her. His face became stony and he grabbed her other arm pulling her in for an almost hug. She wrapped her arm around him as best she could. Shoving his face into her shoulder he spoke with a strained voice. I hate you so much. Awwwww! I love you too! She giggled then pulled away and jogged back toward the alley. Rick walked up to the door and knocked. The sounds of T.V. Was replaced by a shuffling and then the door opened. ...Hi Beth. Beth stood gaping for an entire minute before jumping into her fathers arms. DAD!!! OUCH!! Rick yelled falling down now she noticed his newly opened wound. Oh my god! She yelled into the house Jerry get the first aid kit! Carrying her father into the house she put him on the couch as two curious faces looked up from homework. About this time Ricks phone vibrated. Tugging it out of his pocket he read while Beth replaced the bandages and his grandchildren rolled their eyes at their fainting dad. BTW I lied about my fam 😝.
