Morning

2 1 1

I had turned 17 three months ago, which means I qualify for the second year for thing that keeps me up at night, The Experiment Trails, they started 6 years ago after the rest of the world had fallen or become rogue. Today is the announcements who go's to there undesirable fate,  and I'm expecting like last year they will go through the whole it is a great honour to be selected bull crap.

All the 16 to 18 year olds have to meet at the town hall at noon, the town hall was about a mile away so I left at ten to. I made it to the town hall 4 minutes to twelve, I hop off my bike and walk it over to one of the trees along the footpath and chain it up. I jump as a hand placed it self on my shoulder, I turn to see a girl about my age bent in half laughing her head off
"What's so funny" I snap at the stranger
"Oh you know... the fact you jumped..out of your skin" she gasped
between laughs
She looked up at me with tears covering her electric blue eyes, she wiped them away with a sigh "anyway I came to tell you it's about to the
announcement it about start and you need to come inside"
"K, thanks" I muttered

"Name" a short, plump woman with liquorice black hair says to me from behind a white fold out table
"Kai White" I say to her
"Ok hold out your index finger for me this won't hurt a bit" I do as she says and she pricks it with a pin and a ball of blood appears on my finger
"Ok I'll get you to put your finger on this bit of paper" she said motioning toward a small white bit of paper with my name printed on the top. I press down making a circle of red on the slip of paper.

5 minutes later I'm inside along with about 60 others.

Hey guys I know this is a short chapter I'll try and make them a bit longer in the future. This is my first book guys so don't think anything of it but a vote would be appreciated.

Thanks Guys
