"Kasia this is going to take forever." I mumbled crossing my arms as we stood in line with about two hundred other girls and guys who dreams would probably later be crushed, including my best friend. I mean Top Model is only taking fourteen girls in the country. It ridiculous if you think that out of thousands of beautiful girls that Tyra Banks is going to pick you.

"I know but thanks for coming with me. I'm so nervous." Kasia explained biting her lip. If I thought every other girls odds here were bad Kasia's are even worse. Her being a "plus size" model and such. All though it blows my mind that a girl with curves is considered "plus size." I'd do anything for Kasia's body as would every other girl at our school. This season of America's Next Top Model is for the ages between 16 and 30, which Kasia is super excited about because now she doesn't have to wait until she's 18 to tryout. Along with fourteen girls they were taking fourteen guys as well- The second season to ever allow girls and guys.

"Yeah no problem." I mumbled secretly wishing I hadn't come to watch her tryout. I mean it's going to take like four hours until she actually tries out!

"But I wish you'd tryout too Molly. You're so pretty." Kasia commented. I rolled my eyes at the idea of me being a model and replied,

"Kasia there is NO way you could get me to tryout. I'd make a fool of myself. I mean look at me! Boring eyes, flat hair, creepy smile and I'm like oddly shaped. Nothing like you and nothing like all the other girls from seasons 1 to 20." There were many more flaws to me that would defiantly scream 'not the model type' like for example, I'm the most negative person you'll ever meet. I'm awkward around people, especially around guys. I can't be sexy to save my life. And every time I try to take a picture of myself I look like a clown. Kasia rolled her eyes and proceeded to punch me in the arm before saying,

"Shut up. You are prettier than every girl here. And if you actually talked to a guy he'd fall head over heels for you in a minute." I gave a pitiful laugh and decided to drop the topic.

"What number are you?" I asked noticing number 145 had just been called. A tall blond girl rose from a seat four rows ahead of us and walked through the double doors.

"See! Look at her! I look nothing like her!" I whisper yelled to my best friend.

"That's because she's ugly and you're not." She replied. I scoffed and then leaned over to see Kasia's number that was taped to her tummy.

"Oh good Lord." I mumbled as I read she was number 389. This was going to be a long day.

                                                                        ~~~~*~~~~
"Number 389?" The loud voice boomed from the speakers. I jolted awake as Kasia's color drained from her face. I jumped out of my chair, dragging Kasia along with me. It had been five hours of sitting in metal fold up chairs and I couldn't have been happier to be finally standing.
"I can't do it." Kasia whispered as we arrived to the double doors.
"Sure you can! You're beautiful!" I screamed hugging her. She nodded quietly and took a few deep breaths. "Let's do this." I said linking arms with her as we walked through the doors. As soon as we did we saw a big table full of random people. I could only recognize one of them and that was the Tyra Banks. She was even more striking in person.
"Name, age, height, weight, and the city you represent, please." A older man asked from the end of the panel. I shoved Kasia a tad bit towards the catwalk in which she stood in front of.
"Kasia Woodward. Seventeen. 5'9. 125 pounds and Clarkston, Michigan." Yeah, plus sized my ass.
"Nice to meet you Kasia." Tyra said with a smile. Kasia returned the smile and replied,
"You too."
"Right Profile please." Tyra asked. Kasia turned to her right and all the panel wrote something down on their notepads.
"Left." Kasia did as she was told and they again wrote something down.
"Now Kasia do you have any experience modeling?" A woman asked. Kasia smiled her cheeky smile and responded,
"No."
"Intresting." One of the panel members mumbled.
"Okay now Kasia will you please show us your runway walk on the catwalk?" Tyra asked her. Kasia nodded and got onto the catwalk. Kasia put on her fiercest face and strutted down the catwalk like a pro. I smiled widely but quickly stopped knowing I probably looked like a pedophile at a playground. I could tell the panel was impressed by the looks on their faces.
"Thank you Kasia. Someone will be in touch with you soon." Tyra smiled. Kasia thanked them and quickly retreated back to me.
"You did amazing!" I whispered as we turned our backs to leave.
"Wait." I heard from behind us. Kasia and I both turned to see Tyra starring at us.
"You." She said pointing at me.
"Come here." Tyra added. I gave Kasia a weird look before doing as told and appearing in front of the judges.
"Name, age, height, weight, and the city you represent, please." Tyra asked. I looked over my shoulder as Kasia, who looked overly excited and I just shrugged.
"Oh, I'm not a model..." I mumbled trailing off.
"Please just answer the questions." Tyra asked. I nodded.
"Uhm, Molly O'connor. Seventeen. I'm like 5'6 and probably 115. The city I represent is Clarkston, Michigan..." I said nervously cracking my knuckles.
"Could you turn to the left and then the right?" She asked. I did as I was told as they all wrote things down. I felt extremely judged at the moment and I hated it. I usually never cared what others thought of me but all these judge's were intimidating. Yeah, I have low self esteem but that comes from my head, not anyone else.
"Catwalk please." I laughed a pitful laugh as I got on the catwalk. I gave Kasai one last glance as she gave me a thumbs up. I held my breath and hoped for the best.
