—Ultimate Investigator Niamh Wood's POV—

I didn't want to go to the party... I wasn't really good with social stuff and still is not good.

Anyway, I thought it was high time I go back to my room since I wasn't really doing anything. So I lifted up my feet to walk my way to the hallway that contained the doors to our rooms.

They've been partying for hours... I think it's already afternoon...

While on my way there, I always wonder how was it that it's much colder in that hallway... Then it hit me! I've noticed those little vents installed at the lower part of the walls of the hallway to our rooms. Those things literally give me cold feet...

And then...I saw something I didn't expect to see...EVER.

"EEEEEEEKKK!!!!!" I shrieked as loud I could. "I-it's a body! Someone help!"

S-someone was lying down the hallway's cold floor... That someone.................

Pen Octavius...

It only took a short while for everyone in the first floor to come in running...

M-my heart... N-no! I'm an investigator! I should investigate this!

"Wh-what happened here?!" Michiko exclaimed, fear in her eyes. "Th-that's...! Octavius!"

Then, Flash and Rhea came in, gasping as they saw Pen...dead...blood staining his clothes...

B-blood was coming from the back of his head... He was slumped to the wall of the hallway...

Someone was dead again...

And someone here is the murderer...

Pen... Why would anyone kill you...?

Silence filled the place... I guess everyone was shocked to even make a move or speak...

A-and I'm too...I'm too shocked too... What should we do now...? Zero's not going to like this one bit...

"Time...to get to work again..." I announced silently. "The people up there surely must've heard this. But why are they still not here?"

"I'm going to check them out!" Michiko announced and ran away.

Rhea came near Pen, crouched down, and observed the scene thoroughly. I followed behind and crouched down myself. It was so cold... I don't know whether it's just me or it's because Pen is slumped down behind an air conditioner... I was shivering slightly to how cold it was... Poor Pen's body was almost frozen when I touched him...

The scene was quite gruesome...for me, at least. For a girl who is used to seeing dead people, I sure am still disturbed by this. I mean, who wouldn't be? The girl beside me on the other hand seems to pay no mind...

Anyway, a sledgehammer lied down beside the body. It was surely covered in blood; the head of it, I mean. This must be the murder weapon... I tried to lift it up myself... I couldn't. The wall behind him was also quite bloody...
