"(Y/N) I'm so sorry about George. You couldn't have prevented this." Mark tries to comfort you.

You and George were best friends since day one. When you found out he was joining the military you were worried, but you supported him. Now he's dead. And you blame yourself.

"No, Mark! He was my best friend! I should've tried to talk him out of it better, but now he's dead!" You sob uncontrollably.

Mark looked uncomfortable, but he didn't leave your side. You're not sure why he was doing this, it's not like you two were close. Any other day you'd be glad to spend the time with McSteamy-as you residents call him- but today you just wanted to be alone, at least that's what you were telling yourself.

"(Y/N) seriously, stop blaming yourself. George was a grown man who could do what he wanted. And he did do what he wanted. And remember how he died- saving someone." Mark stared at you and spoke intensely. You sniffed a little and tried to stop your crying. "Do you want to be alone?" He asks.

"No. No." You reply. You look into his crystal blue eyes and then at his pink lips. You melt yours over his. You just have to numb the pain. Besides, George always said you two would be a cute couple.

Without breaking the kiss, you two walked over and locked the door to the On-Call room. He then threw you on the bed, hovering over you. As he kissed your stomach, all your pain and problems just went away.

Mark Sloan was amazing at numbing the pain.
