The Dark(This isn't Goodbye)

***This is a song. I'm posting it here so others could see my work and maybe I could get some publicity for the songs and poems I make. Without further ado, here's my first post on Wattpad, enjoy!

THE DARK(THIS ISN'T GOODBYE)

As the sun goes down.

The stars

By the clouds

This isn't
Goodbye.

To watch the spark fade from your eye?"

Extinguish my soul.

I can't bear to live much longer
All I see is sad and somber
My lullabies are the whispers of the dead."

"Hold your breath
Until it's over
You'll see now
When you are older
The voices they were only in your head.

Why do you cry
All that's green is meant to die
I promise you that this isn't goodbye."

"I can never trust you
Fool me twice and shame on me
Dear Father, why must you
Try and push my One aside?"

"Son I wish that I could apologize,
I wish that I could give a reason
Why I made the spark leave from your eye.
But you are green
And all that's green is surely meant to die."

"Father answer me a question:
Why would you choose me the best
And give me light so that you could just
Take away the spark?

Now you see why I can't let you
Save me 'cause I'd surely bet you
Would once again rob me of my spark.

And how can I see without light?
I refuse eternal night.
I won't let you make me go dark."

"So son," he said with a sigh.
"I guess this marks our goodbye."
And off he left, off into the dark.
