My mother was asking me to do something she knows I am unsure of. She's asking me to go among my fellow wolves, to join the ranks of her beloved followers. I know she secretly hopes I will find my mate among them. She’s told me since I was young “ I created someone special just for you, my love. He will be the sun to your moon and worth more to you then all the stars in the sky.” When you were who she was you could make promises like that.
“Calista. You are the daughter of the Moon Goddess and the first werewolf. You are one of the strongest warriors I've ever trained. You must go help them. You've seen the prophecy of what is to come if there is no intervention. Overlords. Slavery. Genocide. This must be done. You will be leaving at sundown.” My mother, Selene, decreed. Just like that, the argument was over. I was going whether I liked it or not.
