RING RING RING RING RING!!

I hate this school.

I dragged myself to my locker to grab my books for first and second period. Whipping out my phone to check my timetable for the day.

My makeup was next to none, my eyebrows were the only made-up part of my face because without them I look like a twelve year old boy and I would rather not look like that in school: school being the only place I ever see people seeing as I don't leave the house otherwise.

I really wasn't in the mood for talking to people. Especially not happy, excitable people like Amber who just happened to be skipping towards me.

Wonderful

"BECKAYYYYYY!" She sang on her way towards me. "BECKAYYYYYY!"

"Hello darling." I smiled tiredly.

"Oh, who pissed in your cornflakes?" She asked. This was a classic Amber line, she'd use it all the time, as well as multiple others.

"Daniel Carter." I mutter under my breath, a stab of hurt shot through my chest as I said his name.

"Ugh, that knob again?" She spat. "I'm going to hit him some day, like slap slap slap!" She waved her hand back and forth to signify slapping.

I simply laughed at her wacky idea and started to make my way to class.

I honestly looked like the girl from 'the Ring' beside Amber as she happily skipped towards first period Biology. I enjoyed biology, not the subject because my teacher couldn't teach if his life depended on it. Honestly I think this degree he keeps going on about is about as real as my friendship with Dan. (Yes I just threw that shade.) Anyway biology was still good fun especially seeing as Amber, Ryan, Alex and I sit along the back bench.

I laughed at Amber as she skipped happily along the corridor, I don't understand how that girl is so happy so early in the morning. She was now hopping down the centre of the corridor singing "Hakuna matata" from the Lion King.

"WHEN HE WAS A YOUNG WARTHOG!" She gestured towards me to carry on. I laughed at her before reluctantly joining in.

"WHEN I WAS A YOUNG WARTHOG!"

"Very nice," she quoted.

There came the sound of people clapping from further down the corridor. It was Dan and Connor.

"Connor!" Amber squealed. She immediately left my side and joined her new found best friend. Sure enough Connor and Amber disappeared leaving only Dan and I standing across from each other. I bowed my head and attempted to quietly slip out of his presence. As I tried to slide past him his toned barrier of an arm appeared in front of me.

"You are ignoring me." He accused. His sparkling eyes stuck on mine.

"Not ignoring." I protest, as I try to think up excuses.

"Then what?" He raised his eyebrow in an accusing manner.

"Uhhhh," I paused. "I've just had a lot on my mind." I retort to the classic movie answer.

"Said every teenage sitcom ever." He drawled sarcastically.

"What if it were true though?" I try, raising my shoulders innocently.

"But it isn't. Why have you been ignoring me?" He repeated.

"Because I don't want to get hurt again." I cry.

Dan stopped, he looked completely taken aback. "What?" He furrowed his brow in confusion.

"Are you using me?" I bowed my head. I felt humiliated, like everyone could see and hear my weakness.
