Day 8

Hey Diary! Sorry to leave you on that cliffhanger, but school's been crazy! I'm in two math classes this semester, plus another mandatory class, so I've barely had any time to myself! Anyway, I left off with Greyson and Langston. Wow, I really haven't written in awhile!

"WHAT?" all of my friends said at the same time.

"I don't think so." Charlotte crossed her arms.

"After what you did, no way!" Bella glared.

Lacey just balled her hands into fists.

"Wait! Guys! Chill!" I crossed to Greyson, the notebook in hand. "Hey. I found this. I didn't even know that was you that day. And never ever  think or do anything like that again! You have people here that care about you, I promise." I grasped his fingers for a second and we exchanged little smiles.

Langston cleared his throat very obnoxiously. "EHEM! So, you want to join Seconds of Silence? I don't think so. Who'll play guitar for 'Battleground Chaos?'"

"Actually, it's Carnage Mayhem," he corrected.

"Yeah, whatever. We have more than enough people," J said with narrowed eyes.

"Guys over here a minute," said Ben's quiet voice.

    "Stay right there," Langston ordered.

The guys got in a huddle. I heard some muffled comments, with other harsher, frustrated whispers.

Lacey ducked under their arms, inviting herself in. "I think we girls should have a say too!"

"I agree." Bella shoved her way in. Charlotte and I followed.

"I'm lead guitar! He played lead in that other band! He's not taking my spot!" Langston was muttering.

"He won't! He could just play rhythm guitar, I guess," Tommy offered.

"I still don't trust the guy. I know a bully when I see one. Rory, you're like my little sister. I want to protect you," whispered J, looking at me like I was a puppy.

"I appreciate that J, but you have to give him a chance. Everyone deserves a second try. Please?" I pleaded.

"I'm with Rory," Ben said with more conviction than I'd ever heard.

    "Me too," chimed Charlotte.

    "I'm in," said Bella.

    "Same," nodded Lacey.

"Come on, guys. Just one more chance?" Tommy raised his eyebrows at Langston and J, hopefully.

    "Okay, fine," J gave in.

"Well, it's decided then. Greyson," Langston broke the huddle up and called Greyson over.

    "Yeah?" he asked anxiously.

"You're the new rhythm guitarist in Seconds of Silence. Welcome to the team," Langston gave a forced, but hopeful smile.

"Really? Cool. Awesome. When's our first practice?" he tried to conceal his obvious excitement.

"Saturday. School band room. Be there or be square," I smiled.

The bell ring and we all dispersed, except for Greyson and myself, who were going to geometry together.

    "So, how's Lee?" I asked.

"We haven't been hanging out that much. She decided going to Chris's house on the weekends was more fun." he looked at his shoes.
