Chapter 37:

Tricia was resting on the bed with Bertha, Waliyah and Zayn on one side and the other occupied by the doctor whilst I stood still, my back pressed to the door, away from all of them with the horse keeper who was flaming furious at my reckless behaviour. I prayed that Tricia had minor injuries despite the fact that we shared no close attachment whatsoever but there was a little seed inside me that was growing for her. Possibly because she gave life to the reason of my existence. Also all the blame would be dumped on me, not that I didn't deserve it but things would most definitely get messy...

"There is nothing to worry about, you just need to rest for a couple of days till your back is completely relaxed.", the doctor informed.

"No medicines or anything like that?" Zayn asked, tension still settled on his face.

"No no. Nothing like that.", the doctor answered. I moved away as the doctor opened the door to walk away.

"So you just left the horse like that without informing the staff. What if the horse had escaped or worse, what if Mrs Malik here had suffered severe harm because of your careless and stupid mistake!", the keeper shouted at me.

"I know it was careless of me but I honestly didn't realise. I am sorry." I fought back the tears as I apologised.

"You are very lucky this was only a minor wound or else it would have been very costly for you young Madame."

"She said sorry. Now you return back to your work young man," Bertha ordered.

"Er of course." he said and went out.

"She did that on purpose." Tricia accused me.

"I really didn't. I honestly -

"Oh save your lies."

"Tricia! Stop behaving like a child. Why would Perrie ever do such a thing?" Bertha defended me.

"Yeah mum. Perrie would never do that on purpose." Waliyah said. Tricia mumbled something I couldn't catch but I was staring at Zayn the whole time, hoping he would have said something to defend me too and he didn't. The tears unleashed themselves as his silence tortured me further. Suddenly, Zayn rushed towards me, grabbed my arm and dragged me outside through the main lounge where the others were seated. He released me near the tall trees that surrounded the back of the hotel.

"I am sorry." I cried. Zayn walked towards me, sending me walking backwards until I was pinned against one of the tress. His right hand settled around my left cheek and pressed his left palm over my mouth, my tears bounced off his hand as I kept crying and staring at him.

"Shh..." he whispered, his eyes was scanning mine and he slowly let go of his hand once I was calm enough.

"It wasn't your fault." he said, his warm breath washed away the cold air from my face.

"But it's always my fault! Whether if a boy talks to me, it's not your jealously getting in the way but me talking back is. If I upset you even though I didn't mean to hurt you, I have to endure anything you throw my way and you keep throwing and throwing until I can't catch no more. Even when you are drunk, it's always me who is inviting trouble. It's always me you see."

Several sheds of my tears sprinkled down my cheeks uncontrollably after I released my pain out to him. Zayn cupped my face and knelt his forehead against mine.

"Have I hurt you this much? I am sorry I made you cry..."

I absorbed his words as he leaned in and brushed my lips gently, he always left me feeling like the luckiest girl on Earth despite everything and I just melted away with the blow of his warm words. I couldn't help it. I deepened the kiss but his hands knotted inside the back of my hair and pulled me out.
