Here I Stand

I'm that girl who never looks up, who is forever staring at the ground pondering about anything. The girl who never raises her hand, who never wishes to be noticed, I'm that girl who goes straight to her bedroom but never sleeps only dreams, who has too many thoughts going around on her head and an imagination that was too big for her brain causing her wacky thoughts to fly out of her ears. So I finally decided to put my imagination to good use and write some of it down.

I didn't really have any friends so I had plenty of time to write and think about how to make the best story. Should it be about love? Adventure? Fantasy? Mystery? No it would be about all four, I decided in the end.

Alexis
(This means it's from her point of view)

I grabbed the nearest notepad I could see, a pen and my coat, as I unlocked the door of my house my mother asked me

"Alexis were are you going it's eight o'clock?, wait Alexis let me come with you, sweetie"

My mum had recently been feeling bad and feeling as though she was a bad parent. But I knew she only felt this way because of 'how I turned out' I was never the bold and confident daughter she always wanted, I was the shy, insecure and dumb daughter.

I had to get out the house, alone, I had to think and concentrate in private so my mum could not come with me.

"No mum I really love you, I do but I was going to ..erm.. meet a friend at the beach, yeah meet a friend".

My mothers face suddenly beamed with happiness, her smile reaching up to her ears, she was so happy with only the words any normal teenager would have said, 'meet a friend', but I had never said this and even now I was lying.

"Are you really ?, your going to go meet a friend, on the beach, my baby finally meeting a friend"

She carried on mumbling and murmuring about how proud and happy she was, except it was all a lie, and I hate lying, I felt instantly guilty and all I wanted to do was scream out the truth. But instead I managed to mumble,

"Ok bye mum see you around ten, love you"

I hated it. I hate lying.

As I closed the door behind me finally free I speed walked down the road making sure to keep my head down and not draw attention to myself.

I had to walk past a group of about twenty odd girls all staring at me as I speed walked past saying things like,

"Oh did mummy forget to buy you new clothes for the fifth year In a row"
" aww look her only friend is a book of paper, oh sweet cheeks did no one tell you that paper can't answer all your life problems?"
"I bet not even, like, the paper likes her. You know, like, paper comes from trees and trees are
, like, alive or something, so they, like, have feelings. Oh my god I sound like a nerd I'm so smart hahaha"

Oh yeah so smart you know that my 'paper has, like totally got tree, like, feelings'

I simply carried on walking ignoring and not paying attention to them, I know my place, I Know Where I stand.
