I am........was the average girl. Really, I was!
Until that week, that week....
*flashback*
"OK class, we're sending out the talent show forms now. These have to be signed, filled out and turned in by the 21st" my teacher had explained. "I think "I'm gonna do it, it's going to be my time to shine." I said to myself, while filling out the form. "Oh, puh-lease Echo! Look, I admire you for having the courage but, we all know your not nearly good enough for it!" Emily said.
Then to my disbelief, she picked up my form, threw it on the floor. and smashed it with her foot! "How do YOU know? Yo've never heard me sing!" I said. The class started laughing and I could feel my face get red like a cherry. Trying to get over my embarrassment, I knelt down on the floor to pick up my form and try to straighten it out. "Oh, I just know these things." She said while laughing then she just walked away.
*the next day*
Emily's words ran through my mind as I walked to the gym for the talent show auditions. I walked to my seat, seat 6. Emily was in seat 4, great. "Look! Here comes courage the cowardly girl!" She said while snickering.
"I guess she had more courage that I thought....NOT! Ha!" She said. "Yeah? Well, why don't YOU just shut up! No one even asked you for your comments." That seemed to shut her up.
A few minutes later it was Emily's turn. She said determinate by lemonade mouth...........Yeah, she definitely just ruined that song. She sings worse than a walrus, and that walrus was tone deaf. She was done in the first couple seconds because the judges cut her off. During this I was laughing inside. Soon enough it was my turn. "Hi. Um, my name is Echo Ide and I'm going to sing Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson." I said. "Oh, I love this song!" One of the judges said. I then picked up my song and began to sing.

I finished my song and there was thunderous applause. After everyone finished auditioning, the judges said "OK everyone, thank you for auditioning. There's a lot of talent here and we can't wait to see you perform! Also, there is going to be a record deal rewarded to whoever wins so good luck everyone!"
On Saturday, everyone did their talent. I was so nervous, but judging from the applause I think I did pretty good. At the talent show and they said we wouldn't find out who won until the next day.-
*end flashback*
It replayed in my head a million times.
The judges called all if us in a room, and said " Drum roll please! And the winner is......ECHO IDE!"
I couldn't believe it, heck I still can't believe it! Yeah, it must have been a typo or something! I thought.
Yeah, I'm just going to walk down there today and say "Hey, um, I think you made a mistake," I said to the receptionist, then she just looked down at me like i was crazy. "Nope, they specifically said YOU ECHO IDE." She said harshly. "Go right that way they've been waiting to record." She said pointing toward a door, and a boy, I guess around my age greeted me and we sang with a song I wrote, and it was pretty cool.
I thought that was the last of that.......Until i heard it on the radio! I was on the bus on my way to school listening to the radio when i heard it, my song! ~yes I'm that girl who would rather, sit in the corner and just read, yes I'm that girl who is much more unique because I'm that girl who has a different point of view and I'm that girl who isn't like you...~
As i heard it i started to freak out so I started asking my friend jayce if he heard it. "Yeah i hear it too, it sounds exactly like you." he said
"That's because it IS me!" I said, shocked to be saying it. The bus came to a stop and there was a crowd around the bus. When I stepped out they all asked me "how did you write this song?" or "Is this song fiction for you or nonfiction?" and "who is this boy your walking off the bus with?" jayce was one of my best friends, i also secretly have a crush on him, its just he's so sweet and nice and everyday i think about him and when we talk it just felt like... he understands me. i know i care way too much about this boy that i just met this year who's in 6th grade and your in 7th but what can i say? I'm in love....
