Chapter 1 Trust

Happily married for about 6 years, moved out of the city into a quiet neighborhood a lot of friends made over the years usually friendly faces here and there, me and Creg's more serious over the years that is in till Creg's brother died everything started to change.

"How about this?" Danielle holds a blue dress up so I can see it.

"Do they have an extra small" I ask her, she shakes her head and keeps looking.

"What I do?"

"Girl what you think I have to wear a size 8 you were like what 4!"

I smile at her "two"

She shakes her head laughing, "I can't stand you sometimes"

We start laughing and look for a smaller size that is in till my phone starts ringing. I stopped and stared at my phone, Danielle walks up to me "who is it?"

She looks over my shoulder and sucks her teeth; "oh that bastard!"

Creg was calling me for the 3rd time today, I finally answer it after like the 6th time it Rung. "Hello?"

"AVA!?" Creg yells at me though the phone.

"yes?" I answer.

"Damn women how long does it take you to pick up the phone!"

I look at Danielle and start walking away; "I-I didn't hear my phone I'm sorry" I spit out I hear him groan on the other side of the phone.

"Where you at?"

"I'm at the mall"

"you lying to me!?"

"no baby why would I be-"

Danielle grabs the phone off of me "Hi Creg, it's Danielle...no it's just me and her..yeah..ok she'll be home shortly...ok bye now"

She closes my phone then looks at me and shakes her head.

"Honey as your best friend more like your sister you need to leave this man!"

I shake my head and start walking.

"Ava car is this way"

I spin around and follow her, "I knew that"

She rolls her eyes "yeah ok".

Danielle pulls up to the front of my house and I see Creg's car in the drive way.

"Thanks Danielle"

I start to close the door till she calls me back

"Ava..be careful, ok?"

"ok"

"call me!"

I close the car door, walk to unlock my front door, and watch her drive off then head inside.

"Creg i'm-"

Creg grabs my arm from behind and hold my other arm behind my tightly;

"Creg your hurting me!" I scream out in pain and he throws me to the ground.

"that's for not picking up the damn phone!" he pulls me by my hair and grabs onto my throat tightly; "you didn't say anything did you!?"

I start crying and whimpering in pain.

"Answer me!" he yells into my face making me cry hardier

"no! I didn't say nothing!"

He pulls me into the bedroom were the windows were boarded up from what happen about a year ago, Creg puts me onto the bed and stares at me;
