"Sango, honey, you have to eat," Kagome said. It had been weeks after Sango and Miroku split. They both went in two very different ways. Miroku had become cold and distant, even mean at times. Sango however, was much more distraught. She didn't eat, or sleep, or talk. She never went to classes and the university was threatening to kick her out. All Sango did anymore was stare and think, and sometimes cry. She had lost her flair, her caring nature, her entire personality. She lost a huge part of herself when she lost Miroku.
Miroku was still a flirt, he figured, if he couldn't have the woman of his dreams, might as well move on to the next best thing. Fortunately for him, no one returned his affections. He didn't want the next best thing, he wanted Sango, but she didn't want him.
"Sango, please," Kagome pleaded. "If you don't eat I'll be forced to bring in Inuyasha and he'll give you a reality check."
Sango only stared.
Kagome sighed and brought in Inuyasha.
"Sango, quit moping. There are plenty of other guys. And if you don't want any of them then you need to love yourself."
Nothing.
"Go and try Miroku," Kagome told him.
Inuyasha sighed and went down the halls to go and find Miroku. When he found him, he was flirting with a girl who was paying him no attention.
"Miroku, I gotta show you something," Inuyasha told him.
"Not interested," Miroku said coldly and got up, walking away.
"Hey! Miroku!" Inuyasha hollered, "get back here!"
Miroku didn't return.

......Inuyasha was walking around the university, bored. Until he spotted a face he wished he'd never see again. Unfortunately, the face spotted him, too, and ran over.
"Hey! Inuyasha!" he called, running over. "Look, I just wanna say, I'm not into Kagome anymore. But I heard somewhere that Sango is available. Since you're a good friend, could you confirm the rumors or not?"
"You stay away from Sango. Don't even think about trying to get to her while she's weak," Inuyasha glowered.
"So she is free! Thanks Inu! I knew I could count on you!" Koga bolted off down the halls to Sango's room.
"Don't call me Inu," Inuyasha mumbled.
Koga knocked on the door and was met with a soft 'come in' from Kagome. He opened the door and the room was dark but Kagome could still see him.
"Koga! You need to respect that I'm with Inuyasha now-"
"I'm not into you anymore Kagome. I'm here for Sango."
"Koga, you might want to wait a few days. She's not really-"
"Koga?" Sango asked quietly, her voice cracked and hoarse, and her throat dry.
"The one and only."
"What are you doing here?"
"I've come to seek for your affections, Sango. I wish I could have someone as wonderful as you," he flirted.
Kirara jumped in front of her and transformed into her demon form.
"Nice kitty?" Koga tried.
"Not when you're around," Sango remarked. "She doesn't really like slimy, filthy, dirty, mangy wolves!" Sango exploded. This was the most emotion Kagome had seen in her in weeks, all she could do was sit back and watch, and he proud of her friend.
"And neither do I!" Sango pushed Koga out the door.
"Kagome," she started.
"Y-yeah Sango?"
"I'm really hungry." Kagome jumped up and hugged her, as Sango returned it.

......Another week had passed and Sango was doing just fine. She was strong, and healthy. Though, despite her and her friends' best efforts, her flair never returned. Her caring nature withered away. All that was left now, was a shell of who she used to be. This irritated her immensely. She didn't need Miroku to be happy! She didn't need anyone! Didn't she?
Sango was sitting in the courtyard, reading one of her favorite books. She had heard a soft noise and looked up to see Koga sitting in front of her. She sighed and rolled her eyes, setting down her book.
"What do you want, Koga?" she asked.
"Only you, Sango," he grabbed her hand and kissed it. Sango pulled back immediately, wiping her hand on her shirt.
"Get away from me," she rolled her eyes, going back to her book.
"I shant!" he yelled out loudly. "For if I do, I will never receive your affections!"
"You shall, for if you stay, you will receive a book to the face. Just like this," Sango hit him in the face with her book. Koga didn't seem to mind, though.
"I still love you, and I will never leave. Not until I get a kiss," Koga wiggled his eyebrows and Sango threw up in her mouth.
"Fine, if you'll leave me alone after this," Sango sighed, irritated.
She leaned forward and got close to him but stopped, pulling away quickly. "I can't, I'm sorry, just stay there then."
Koga grabbed her face and tried to kiss her but she grabbed her book and hit him with it, harder this time.
"A mere book shall never stop me!"
"How about a monk?" said a voice from behind him.
"Neither book, nor monk!"
"You sure about that?" Miroku grabbed Koga and threw him to the ground. "Stay down," he said.
Miroku walked over to Sango and sat next to her. "Are you alright?" he asked.
"Yes, I'm fine."
"So you two are back together now? Why does no one ever clue me in on these things!"
"Shut it Koga!" they both yelled in unison.
Koga stood up and brushed it off. "Yeah, whatever, you can have her," he scoffed, turned around and walking away.
Sango rolled her eyes, "that idiot is worse than Inuyasha."
"You can say that again," she laughed.
"I truly am sorry for what I did, Sango," Miroku apologized, turning the mood solemn.
"Its fine, Miroku," Sango replied, even though she wasn't so sure if she meant it.
"I want you to understand the I live you, Sango. But I can't be around you again, knowing I would hurt you," he sighed. Miroku didn't want to give up the girl he loved, but what choice did he have? He knew she wouldn't take him back even if he begged.
"Miroku, it hurts me even more when you stay away. I won't ask you to be my boyfriend again, if you don't want to. But please don't isolate yourself from me," she sighed. She was losing him all over again.
I'm so stupid to let him go, she thought.
Miroku grabbed her and pulled her close.
"Will you marry me, Sango?"
"Y-yes," Sango went red in the face. Her eyes glistened as she stared into his.
Miroku didn't hesitate to pull her in and kiss her.
"Those two just don't know how relationships work, do they?" Inuyasha complained to Kagome from where they were watching.
"Oh, be quiet Inuyasha," Kagome scolded him.
"You want to lecture someone about relationships? I can't believe my ears!" Shippo exclaimed. Inuyasha growled at them...
