A/N: I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh. I never will. Enjoy.
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~I lost my first kiss on the vanilla dirt playground of Acrombie's School for Good Boys in Cairo, Egypt. My stepbrother Bakura, his boyfriend Ryou and I were playing Double Dutch with a dirty knotted rope that used to attach the old tire swing to the oak. I was eight, Bakura was ten and Ryou was nine.
Madam Maria and Madam Ann were watching us from the shade of the roof ledge, smiling as we raced, played hopscotch, dueled and "double ditched". That's what everyone called it. They called us the "Double Ditchers". It sounded so cool that we stuck with it.
My shirt was already a faint orange; the grit clung to my white button up. Of course, this didn't really matter because the Madams would make us change either way. And I thought I was bad. Bakura had ripped a huge hole in his uniform slacks. Ryou was the cleanest out of all of us; only a orange juice stain on his breast pocket.
Ryou and Bakura spin the ropes, chanting as they do.
"Double Dutch, Double Dutch; turn around! Double Dutch, Double Dutch; touch the ground! Double Jump,Double Jump-"
A loud yell interrupted our game. Bakura pulled the rope and I almost tripped, thankfully staying on my feet.
"Hey!" Another boy called over to us. What I assumed was two more of his friends were behind him, but they didn't seem as happy as the first boy. "We call next game!"
"No bloody way!" Bakura shook his head, gathering the rope into his hands and moving away from the upcoming group. My stepbrother was always a stone-hard boy. He didn't have many friends because no one could get through to him except for me and Ryou.
"Didn't the Madams teach us that sharing is caring?" One of the boys with sandy hair and pale, lilac eyes crossed his arms. I liked how it defied gravity like mine, pointing in every direction.
"Can't you guys play when we're done?" Ryou's small voice trembled; he twiddled the tainted rope between his small fingers.
"That's what we're asking for, stupid."
"Hey!" Bakura's raised a fist towards the other boys," don't call him stupid or I'll knock your dumb block off!"
"Yeah, Marik," What I assumed was the leader of their group stepped up, his arms crossed and a friendly yet sly grin on his face," Ryou's not stupid. He's cool. And he's Bakura's boyfriend." I think his name is Akefia Touzoku - added on quickly.
"Whatever. Hey Atemu!" Marik looked back over his shoulder - arms stilled crossed," wanna show these weenies what's good-?"
I knew my eyes had widened when the one known as "Atemu" panted heavily with his hands on his knees; sweat dripping from his chin and slacks dusted with vanilla earth. I don't understand how I didn't see him before. From the 3 years I've attended Acrombie, I have never noticed Atemu. Dear Ra, I have a doppelganger.
His skin is darker than mine, like a rich milk chocolate. He looks a bit taller than me. His deep crimson eyes scare me.
"What weenies you talkin' 'bout?" Atemu's voice is higher than I expected. He's not that attractive anymore.
"The weenies that everyone calls the "Double Ditchers"." Akefia came closer, smirking and getting very close to Ryou. Close enough for Bakura to slide in the way and growl at Akefia. I spotted the Madams' smiles disappear. They were looking at us.
"Bakura," I hiss," the Madams are staring."
With a grunt, Bakura backed down, snaking a dirty orange-sleeved arm around Ryou. He turned them around, but I know what they did. An audible smooching sound could be heard for my ears only.
