You & I

Finally my senior year. The year I had been waiting for. Senior trips, college tours, and PROM. My best friends Lucy and Kat have talked about this year forever. I have probably annoyed my boyfriend Drew a lot with all my talk about prom. This year was supposed to be my year until yesterday. When I got some news.

 

“What do you mean we’re moving?!?”, I scream loudly. “Honey, lower your voice and let your father explain.”, my mother says. “I got a new job overseas and I am not leaving you, Aiden, and your mother here” my father adds sweetly. Now I admit I have always been a Daddy’s girl but right now is an exception. Wait...did he says overseas? “Overseas? How far is overseas?”, I say as I feel the tears start to fall from my eyes. “England”, he says softly like he knows I’m about to explode. No! No! No! This is not happening. Not now, not my senior year. My senior year can’t be spent with a bunch of british strangers. “Honey are you okay?”, my mom says as she wraps her arms around me. “Huh” I asked confused not realizing that I was full on bawling.. “Oh no. I’m fine just upset. When do we leave?, I say dreading the answer. “Friday night”, my dad answer my unwanted question. “Oh”, I say softly with a sigh. Ok that gives me two days to pack and say goodbye. Maybe go on a date with Drew if he evens wants to stay together. I can do this. “I’m gonna go see Lucy and Kat”, I tell my parents. “Okay honey, be careful, my dads says as he hugs me. “I will”, I say as I close the door. Happy senior year to me.
