Ok, so to be clear, I did not write this. I have a brand write it for me, and i cried

"Poe!"

She looked up.

Did someone just say my name?

For a moment, something pulled Poe away from her intense concentration. She started to lower her camera.

But I'm sure whatever that person wants can wait a minute. Just need to get one last shot ...

Pointing the lens back at her subject, Poe resumed her state of oblivion to the world around her. She became lost in the perfect intersection between form and function, between artistry and utility. The morning sun filtering through the gauzy curtains cast a romantic glow across the entire room. Poe let out a soft sigh at witnessing the warm example of physical perfection laid out before her.

"POE! Hellooo!"

Selena was standing in the doorway now, trying to peer over Poe's shoulder. "We're about to open. I need you out front. What are you even doing back here, anyway?"

"Sorry! I'll be right there. I'm doing something important."

"Um ... are you ... are you taking pictures of bread rolls right now?"

Selena's eyebrow arched in an expression of mild disbelief, but the corners of her lips started to creep up into a small smile at her friend's eccentric behaviour. "Seriously? We have a line of customers at the door and the 'important' thing you have to do first is take pictures of our bread rolls?"

Poe grinned. "It is important! See how perfect they look in this light? The crust just barely kissed with golden brown? Isn't it amazing? Doesn't it just make you want to stop for a moment and appreciate the little things we have in life and the fresh experiences that greet us every morning? Doesn't it make you feel comforted, and inspired, and excited?"

"Maybe a little bit. Mostly it makes me feel like I'm looking at bread rolls." Selena pulled Poe's apron down from its hook on the wall.

"Well, I want my blog readers to feel like they're looking at bread rolls, too."

"Ah, yes, your blog readers! I'm sure all ten of them will be so grateful to

you," Selena teased, playfully tossing an apron over to her friend and employee.

"Ha! You're cruel. I must be up to at least twelve by now. But that's twelve whole people who deserve to witness the beauty of these bread rolls. You can't deny them that." Poe tied the apron behind her back and slipped the order pad and a few pens into the large pocket in front. She loved the rich blue colour of the fabric, and smiled, remembering how she'd helped Selena pick them out even before she had started working for her at the café.

"Plus, I really need to be on top of my game this week. My friend Victoria - the one who works as an advice columnist for the newspaper - told me that they're hiring a new writer for their food and dining section, and she's going to show them my blog. I need something that's going to impress them."

"Really? Poe! That's incredible! You'd be perfect for that!"

Poe smiled when she saw Selena's face light up with excitement on her behalf. She felt very lucky that her boss was also such a supportive friend.
