Chapter one

~Valisa~

'Oh why must I always come to these horrid party's?' Valisa asked her self again. Valisa was seated by her mother and stepfather. Her younger sister was next to her and her brother was by her stepfather. "Mother why must I come to these party's?" Her mother kept on smiling and looking to the crowd. "Because you are the princess and one day one of these fine men will become your mate." she replied. Her mother was the queen of the lycan (or as I like to say werewolves) and I was the princess. My mother was born into it just as I was. My father wasn't my mother's real mate and he found his so he left and my mom had to married another man (who isn't her mate).

Valisa looked back at the party. It was the same as all the other ones they had each year. Her mother and 'father' had the king and queen spot and the prince by the king and princesses by the queen overlooking their people. There was at least 10,000 werewolves there. Most lined up to give their greetings and to met Valisa. The room was covered in gold drapes, red table cloth, marble floor, the food by the walls, and of course the guard. Just like every Christmas throughout new years.

"Princess Valisa, how nice it is to see you again." Arthur told Valisa. She looked at him. 'Oh man just once, one year can he leave me alone?' But of course she already knows that answer, no. "Hello Arthur how is your father and mother doing?" she asked him. "They are doing better I will give them your regards." he replied. She smiled when the band started playing the opening song that the oldest princess had to dance to with the king. She may not like it but at least it gave her a reason to go. "I have to go. To for the opening dance with the king." Valisa told him a little smugly. At first she saw a little anger but then he hid it. "Yes of course princess." Then he walked away. "Valisa will you care to join me with the opening dance?" Her step dad asked."Yes I will my king." she replied like practiced.

While she danced with her 'father' he talked to her. "Valisa you know that one day you will have to marry some-one." Valisa look at him, 'I wonder what he means by that.' She thought to herself. "Of course I already know that father" she told him. He looked down at her. "Me and your mother have thought about this and we decided that you would marry Arthur." he told her. She stared at him with wide eyes. "Li-like an arranged marriage?" she asked. "Yes like an arranged marriage." her dad told her.

After the song was over she went to her friend Max. They had been friends ever since she could walk. His father is the king's adviser. So he was always there when she need him. "Hello Valisa can I dance with you?" Max asked. She smiled at him. "Why of course you can, but you do know you don't know how to dance right?" He gave me his biggest smile ever. "Why of course I can dance." She gave him a knowing look. He just gave me it right back. "Ok then prove it." She told him. He took her right hand and put his other one around her waist, her left her waist her hand and went to his shoulder. When the music started playing he started to dance just like he was supposed to. "I can see some one has been practicing." She smiled at him it was the first year that she didn't have to lead him. "Valisa what's wrong I can see it in your eyes. Its not like other years when you've been forced to come here just like tonight" Max told her. She looked up at him. Tears stung her eyes. "He told me I had to marry Arthur." She told him. He looked down at her "Its going to be all right, you're going to find him soon I can feel it in my gut." Max told her.
