It all started this morning. I opened up the newspaper and the head line said,"BC's VERY OWN ERIN SWAGLY WINS GOLD MEDAL IN 2014 WINTER OLYMPICS!!" Oh by the way I'm Erin Swagly. I've been snowboarding for the past 6 years and this was my first time in the Olympics.
FLASH BACK TO THE OLYMPICS
The announcer had said it was my turn to go and get ready for my big slope style run. Holy shit was I ever nervous all my friends are watching me like Evalyn and James and Pete!! Yeah don't judge I don't have a lot of friends. So as I'm getting ready to hit the slopes I hear the announcer say I have to beat the score of 98.5 from the swedes. As I hit the run to get going I put my goggles down and head down to hit the jump. I'm starting to go but I don't have enough speed so I tuck I hit the jump a do a double cork 720.... I land it perfectly and I'm waiting for my score which is. The announcer says through the speakers,"ERIN SWAGLY WITH A SCORE OF 101.4!" I undo my bindings and jump into the air with joy!! I signal to my friends to come over and jump around with me. As I receive my gold medal on the podium I looked at Evalyn,James and Pete and point. When the people put the medal around my neck I do the classic bite it move let the people get a few pictures before I head back to my friends. But as I start walking of the podium I get bombarded with reporters asking how I felt about the gold. I avoid them all and just keep walking through them eventually I reach Evalyn. We started to have a conversation about whether or not I should have a party tonight for my win.
