When I woke up the next morning my eyes instantly fell onto my digital clock. It read 5:48, thinking it's too early I tried to coax myself asleep. It didn't work so I went down stairs to maybe eat breakfast or just walk off the first day nerves.

As I walked down the stairs I heard a sound downstairs. My groggy eyes instantly became clear. Many things went through my head in a spilt second including my favourite singer Raquel has come to surprise me or Santa is a bit late. But the most realistic thing was that it was a thief is downstairs. I mean who else is inside some else's house at this hour... well expect for Santa Clause.

I ran back to my room and grabbed my tennis racquet next to my bed and then I ran back down the stairs and I approached the living room slowly...

I turned around the corner only to find my mum packing my bag which was really weird since I had already packed it last night.

"Mum? What are you doing?" I said wearily. She instantly looked up and she looked like she had not sleep that night. Her hair was all over the place and she only had one earring on, not to mention flour all over her face.

"I...uumm...was making sure that...er...you had everything." She said trying to wipe away the flour but only smudging it.

"Is everything alright?"

"Okay look honey. I need to tell you something... You are going to be the only vampire at your school raised as a muggle." She said in one breath

It took a minute to sink in.

"But why me? Why was I the only one raised like..."

"I heard you girls were up." A shadow slowly appeared to the doorway. I was so surprised I had never ever heard my dad talk like this. I guess once the whole secret about me being a vampire was out they loosened up a bit.

"Dad I was just wondering why..."

"WHO WANTS BREAKFAST???" my mum said a bit too loudly.

My eyes gazed over to the kitchen for the first time and I was very astonished to find a whole feast enough to feed our whole neighbourhood. My jaw dropped in amazement as did my dad's. I guess mum really was up all night.

"Here." Mum said as she handed both of us plates. Dad and I slowly walked to the table, our eyes still the size of our plates.

After I had enough of my toast, eggs, bacon, pancakes, yoghurt, beans and sausage (I hadn't finished half of it) my mum forced on my plate I looked at the clock and it read 6:43. I stood up and told my parents I was going to get ready. As I walked upstairs all I could think about was what my mum said before. I couldn't quite understand how I could be the only muggle raised child... I mean there has to kids with muggle parents.

I came down in my loose white shirt and black skinny jeans. It was 7:00 and we were expected to be there at 7:30 so I asked my mum when we should leave for the train station. My mum just stared at me and bursted out laughing. But it wasn't a normal laugh it was a very, very nervous laugh.

"You really must stop believing everything in the books."

"But mum you said something about Harry Potter."

"We said that she wrote the books to throw off the muggles. If all the muggles are in one place at a certain time it leaves more time for us to go where we need to go."

I thought for a second and said, "Where exactly are we going?"

"No one knows."

"Come on ladies we need to get ready to go."

"Dad I you can't send me off without telling me anything."

"I'm afraid I can." He said as he ushered me out of the room into the living room.

"Okay I am sorry but we can't go with you. Once you get there you will see many children walking to a castle you just have to follow them you will figure it out there. Don't forget to do all your homework." although he sounded heartless, I swear I could see tears in his eyes. He took out a metallic mat and placed it on the floor.

As I stepped on I saw my mum clutching on to my dad tears rolling down her cheeks. When I placed my second foot on the metal mat she looked away and let a sob.

Next thing I knew I was looking up at a grand castle way better then the one in the movies and people who looked 10-19 years old were walking towards it. I looked down wondering if I should pick up the metal mat but nothing was there expect a grey gravel path.
