Elemental Heart

Chapter 4

        "D-did that wolf just laugh", Trin stuttered and hid behind me.
        "What? Is it bad that I laughed. Did I break the rules?", the wolf snickered. The wolf moved towards Smokey. "It's not often a Cat Elemental comes around. Usually it's just those pesky corruptions!"
         We all stood is shock. Chris stared at the wolf, with his mouth wide open.
        "I never knew wolves could talk.", Chris yelled towards the wolf. Trin and I stared at him. Smokey had covered his mouth. The wolf stared at the ground. It's ears were droopy.
         "I'm not supposed to be a wolf. I used to be an elemental. I don't know what kind but I was."
         "May I ask your name?" I asked not sure if she could remember. I felt terrible for the wolf. Smokey ran to the wolf and hugged it. Smokey scared the wolf and let go.
         "I do not remember my name. But ever since I turned into a wolf, everyone calls me Luna.", The wolf said. She smiled at us, showing her sharp teeth.
         "Where did you come from Luna?", Chris asked. We could tell he was getting impatient.
         "Well I remember very little of my past but I do remember some things-", Luna said. She sounded shaky while she told us her past.

         "Luna!", Riley yelled to her little sister. "Lunch is ready!"
         "Coming!", Luna yelled while running down the stairs.
         Luna and Riley were orphans since Luna was five years old. Riley was 8 when their parents died. They cared deeply for each other.
          "Luna! Don't run down the stairs! You're going to get hurt again!"
          "Don't worry I'm being more careful this ti-"
          There was a knock on the door. Riley opened it to see a man. They both knew who he was.
          "Hello ladies", the man said politely.
          The girls stayed quiet. Riley quenched the door, scratching the wood. Luna stood behind Riley. Luna was trembling. She didn't want him to see her. But he saw her straight away. The man smiled at them. His eyes were dark green. They pierced through Luna.
           "Tsk...I'll just be on my way then." The man chuckled and turned to walk away. Luna noticed something on the ground and picked it up.
           "What's that Luna?" Riley asked Luna looking at the paper.
           "I think it's a note? Want to read it Riley?" Luna asked uncertainly.
           "Let me have it" Riley grabbed the paper and read it aloud.  
"My dear sisters, please come to my aid. I have been trapped by one named Gasper. And the worst part is he is...how do I say...corrupted. This is probably the last you will hear from me. Please if you come for me, be careful. I love you both and care for you safety. Gasper is a very cruel man. He is requesting a marriage. If you figure out how to get to me, please get me out of this hell that I'm in. I love you guys very much. He's coming so I must wrap this up. From your eldest sister, Cocoa."
           "We have to save her Riley!" Luna yelled. Riley covered her mouth.
            "Shush, if they hear us they'll get mad. We cannot tell anyone about our mission." Riley whispered. "We head out tonight."
              Luna nodded and got ready to go. Once night hit, the girls ran to the forest only to be trapped by the man from earlier. He glared at them. Riley noticed something different about the man. The man was corrupted. A black liquid was dripping down his face. He laughed maniacally and the two girls faded into a deep slumber.
             "Luna? Luna!" Riley yelled to Luna.
             Luna woke up feeling drowsy. She felt a pain in her head. She lifted her head up to look at Riley. "Riley? Where are you?".
              "Luna! I'm right in front of you!", Riley yelled.
              "What!?" Luna stuttered. She looked at her sister who was a wolf. She then felt something touch the side of her face. She looked at what was touching her face, it was a tail, a wolf tail.

             "That's the last thing I remember. After that Riley told me to stay in this area while she saved Cocoa, but hasn't returned since", Luna explained. Her ears flattened on her head and she whimpered.
              "Gasper...did this to you?", I asked. Luna nodded and I smiled at scratched her ear. "Hey we will stop this ok?"
               Her face lit up, "thank you so much! I'll come with you!"
