Queen Elara made Mare Barrow fake her death after the ball because she saw that she was a threat to the monarchy. Cal and Maven thought Mare actually died and were devastated (Maven was never evil) but they had to continue on life without her. She then returned back to Stilts and after two months, when everything was just getting back to normal she gets whisks off the palace again as a red servant.
So that's a summary of what the story is about. This takes place right after Kilron and Farley escape so after the Parting ball. It'll hopefully make more sense when I start the story. Hope you like it!!
