It was the year 2717. There had been a third World War hundreds of years back in 2050 that left the world in ashes. Atomic bombs and radiation wiped out more than half of the population. Because of the massive destruction, the oceans, over time, pushed all the countries and continents together as one large land, just like the beginning before time.
Over the years, humans have rebuilt a utopian society to make sure nothing like that ever happened again. There is a strong government, no longer a democracy: one ruler for the few millions of people left on earth. Out of those people, only a select few were born with "defects" from the radiation which caused them to develop strange powers. Some are helpful to the human race, and get well-paying jobs, and some are just as dangerous as which they were born from. Those dangerous ones are sent to a place called Biersack Institution Asylum, or BIA, if they were caught soon enough. If the dangerous ones roamed the land, the governor would execute then publicly over live television.
Far from the capitol, there was a little village called Barin in which a girl named Madeline Tori lived. Today is her 18th birthday. Today was the day she was supposed to make her mother proud... But it didn't turn out as great as she hoped. Instead, she met a dark haired stranger who would forever change her life.
