A Change in the Story

Chapter 1: Elliana Banks

   I peeled my head off of the now wet desk, class was finally over. My friend Cole walked up the hallway and handed me his notes, "here you go, sleeping beauty." I laughed sarcastically, I hadn't been getting much sleep at home lately. "So.... what are your plans for today?" He shrugged "I thought you could ask to come to my house and we could work on our science project," I locked my arm in his "or we could work on it now and go to my house to watch movies and eat popcorn." He pulled me into the library and set out a big sheet of paper filled with instructions. "I found this online the other day, it looked really cool, what do you think?" I scimmed through it quickly as he sat there clicking his pen, "I don't see any problems with it." He stopped clicking his pen and looked up at me "alright sounds good, I've already got all the stuff in my locker for it." I knew this was going to happen he always comes prepared, I watched him run out of the library and into the hallway. I decided to take a seat and actually read what I got myself into, I must've sat there for 5 minutes waiting. I looked at the doorway, and then I heard stuff clattering on the floor, I walked just out the door to see him covered in a pile of stuff. "You could've asked for help" he blushed, "Can you help me?" I grab some stuff and walk into the library, I set it out on the table and Cole does the same. We start mixing what the experiment calls for when we see the mixture start to bubble, "It's not supposed to do that," Cole's face was turning as white as a ghost. I looked at him frantically, "we need to find something to cover it!" The librarian starts to look in our direction and I quickly grab a discard book, better. "Maybe we should finish this in the science lab," he nods. I grab all the stuff this time and yell "race ya!" We start to book it up the stairs Cole far behind and eventually out of site. I walk into the science lab and once again lay out the stuff, and begin to watch the video on my phone. When it ended Cole still wasn't there, he was late again.
