A few weeks went by, and things with Brynn turned out surprisingly well. I never thought that I could do any long distance relationships anymore, since the previous one did not turned out great, but, with Brynn, each day I felt like I wanted more of her, not less.

Having said that, my mates felt like I was drifting away from them, especially Larry. Larry was the closest thing I'd ever had to a brother, and it was killing me knowing that Larry felt like I was choosing Brynn over him. Larry didn't say much, but I could tell that with me having 'other' commitments was bothering him a little bit.

"You alright, mate?" Larry asked me one evening while I was having a smoke at the back of our tour bus. I was drained since we played from one city to another, back to back, so I decided to just unwind on the bus early before we leave to our final destination, which was LA. All the of the other boys were out somewhere at a nearby bar, I reckoned.

Throwing a smile, I nodded at Larry. "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"

Larry tilted his head and gave me a penetrating stare. "Well, for starters, it's only twelve o'clock. You're usually gone a lot later than that."

I laughed at his statement. "Yeah, I suppose so. But I was dead knackered though, so I decided to call it a night."

Larry leaned back on the couch in front of me. "Call me crazy, but, I find it hard to get use to your new routine. From what I remember of your.... activities.... like you know... having some random lass around you picked up from the bar. You switched sides, mate?"

I raised an eyebrow at his question and he laughed. Shaking my head, I told him, "I've just lost interest at... being random, I guess."

My smile felt tight to me, but I kept it plastered on my face.

"Does that mean things are serious between you and Brynn?" Larry finally asked the question I knew he's been meaning to ask.

"I guess you can say that," I kept my face neutral.

Larry looked at me for a second, his expression was guarded.

"What?" I chuckled. "You can say it!"

Larry let out a long sigh. "It's nothing really."

"What?" I shot him a glance.

"Are you sure you two are not going too fast?"

"Too fast how?" I tilted my head.

"You know... like to be serious and all," he sighed. "You told me before that you wanted to keep your.... 'options' open."

"I guess I changed my mind...." I sighed. "Brynn is... well, she's different." I looked at Larry. "She made me feel different..."

"I know. I am just making sure. Because you specifically made me promise to remind you if girls get in the way of the band, that's when I have to step in," Larry let out a long sigh.

"But I never slack off!"

"You kind of did. Several times. You cut practices short so you could sneak out and make phone calls. A few times in New York you just disappeared during soundcheck. The boys... they are starting to talk ."

"I appreciate your concerns. But, trust me, this band is my number one priority," I told him.

"I know, mate. I just wanted to make sure you know that..."

"I do..." I gave a soft punch on his shoulder and he started laughing. "But, thank you. For always looking out for me. I really appreciate that."

"I am here to guard your dreams, which is this band. I'd hate to see it goes to waste because you're in love," he tapped my shoulder.

"I promise you, it won't," I smiled, relieved that Larry and I had the talk.

We arrived LA the next morning and we were quickly brought to the next venue that we'll be playing called The Echo, for soundcheck.

Benji was having a run through with Mike while Bondy and Bob started jamming out to some tunes. I joined them both and we started rocking out to You Only Live Once by The Strokes. I shifted my mic stand so I could face Bob on the drums. Benji taped in as soon as he heard his favourite tune, quickly ignoring Mike.

Fun times with my band, I smiled to myself, shaking my head.

We were just about to get into the second verse when Bob stopped playing his drums, his face all blushed. I immediately turned around to see what made Bob stop.

"Oi, mate. That was the best verse," Benji groaned, but Bondy quickly tapped his shoulder blade to make Benji turn around as well.

Dan was standing at the barricade with three, almost identical ladies; all with long, straight hair.

The Haim sisters.

"Oh, don't mind us!" Este chuckled, as her sisters clapped their hands.

"That was so good. Don't stop!" Danielle, grinned. I suddenly felt shy that she had witnessed us jamming to a Strokes song, since Danielle had once work with Julian Casablancas during his solo tour, so she must have mastered everything Casablancas related.

My eyes then focused on the little one. The one who was supposedly 'my girlfriend'. Alana saw me staring and she immediately smiled at me adorably, causing my cheeks to heat up a bit. My band members all froze in silence, perhaps a little starstruck that a well known band was standing in front of us.

"You lads know Haim. They were just around the corner and wanted to check you lads out for a bit," Dan said. The girls then each climbed up the stage to greet us. They were being super nice and friendly, exchanging hugs and all that.

Alana then came up to me, so I thought it'd be polite to introduce myself since we have only communicated through Twitter, with tweets that was pre-drafted by our managers. They were rather flirty, and all of our fans were starting to believe that we were seeing each other, although we were not.

"Van," I smiled.

"Of course I know who you are. You're my 'boyfriend'," she giggled as she pulled me in for a quick hug.

"Right," I chuckled.

"Aww. Cute!" Este playfully teased her sister as the rest of my bandmates awkwardly glanced over at me.

"Oh, stop it. We don't want to make Van uncomfortable now, don't we?" Alana stuck her tongue out to her sister.

"It was actually Alana's idea to drop by. Este and I wanted to check out your band, but Alana's here mainly to check you out!" Danielle laughed.

"Dani!" Alana flushed, stomping her right feet once. "Don't listen to them. They are just trying to get me," Alana said. Her face was so red that I couldn't help but noticed how cute she looked.

"I don't mind if you do," I chuckled, which caused all of my bandmates, Dan and the other two sisters to exclaimed in unison. I then regretted saying that. Since I'd hate to give out the wrong idea.

Although I sort of did fancy the little one.....
