*I'm still alive...just busy with work! This is a itty bitty update but at least I have something! Thank you for reading!*

I was still worried about my mother as I walked down to the basement, I knew the guys would have gone down there first. I hoped that she would be fine and that she would tell me if she needed me. I planned on keeping a close eye on her in case she decided anything crazy.

"Is everything alright?" Alex asked when I made it down to the basement.

"My mom is acting strange, I think my dad did something but she will not really tell me what happened," I say.

"Should we all keep a rotation on who is keeping an eye on her?" Rob asked. He was learning against the pool table and had his arms crossed over his chest. It was stretching his t-shirt across his muscles and made me momentarily forget what I was worried about. Then I felt horrible when I was brought back to reality.

"She doesn't know any of you, I will keep an eye on her. That is very nice of you to offer though," I say giving them a sad smile. I picked August up and let him nuzzle under my chin, I closed my eyes at the feeling of his soft fur.

"When is the camping trip?" I asked. They said it was soon but never gave me an exact date.

"Next weekend," Rob said.

I nodded, we had a full week then. I hoped that my Mom's outburst was not the beginning of events for us and just an isolated event. We have had it too easy though, something was bound to happen.

"What do you want to do for the rest of today?" Alex asked.

"How about we just stick around here today, I don't want to go too far," I said.

"How about a movie then?" Eric asked. I gave him a small smile and nodded, he knew exactly what I needed. A chance to escape reality and think of something else for just a few hours. I still needed to time process everything too, and how I was going about it was not working for me right now.

We all headed up to the movie room and passed by the kitchen first for some snacks. Bertie was inside baking and gave me a tight smile when I walked in.

"How is she?" I asked.

"She will be just fine dear, she needs a little space from everything and she is going to be off to a spa resort soon," Bertie said.

I nodded but could not keep the gloom off of my face. Had this happened before? Was I that clueless to what happened in my own house? I thought back to the last house we had, in a different state, I was constantly surrounded by people. I went to parties and thought people loved me for being me but really, they just loved my parent's money.

I slowly followed the guys up to the movie room, letting the thoughts of my old life consume me. I was a selfish and mean at my old school, I worked hard for my grades and was a perfect student but I was a horrible classmate. I didn't stop any of my so called friends from picking on people, I knew what they were doing but I never told them to stop.

A warm hand touched my cheek, pulling my face up. I looked up into brown eyes, Hunter kept his eyes on mine as he pulled me into him until I was forced to look elsewhere. He crushed me to his chest in a hug and I let out the breath I had not realized I was holding.

"It will be okay," he said. His deep voice rumbled through my body, I felt his words more than I heard them.

"Lilly," Alex called softly. I looked up and he motioned for me to join him on the couch. I looked up at Hunter once more and he gave me a little shove in Alex's direction.

I moved up the short staircase to Alex and sat on the couch with him. He pulled me close and kissed my temple. I let my eyes fall shut at the contact, I needed it. I was desperate for more contact, as if all I needed was them near me and all would be fine.

A soft mewing sound came from the front of the room, I opened my eyes to see August bite Hunter's ear then then curl up on his big shoulder. I smiled as I watched the kitten sleep. Hunter reached a hand up and softly stoked the kitten, I couldn't help but laugh softly when I saw that the kitten could fit into his large palm twice.

"Chick flick?" Eric asked from the front of the room. He had the remote in his hand and was sitting on the list of categories.

"No, action" I said. I wanted something crazy and fast to take my mind from what was going on. I needed something far from reality.

Eric shrugged and moved to the correct category of movies and soon selected a movie. A superhero movie, something that while was far from reality seemed to hit closer to home. I had my superhero's all around me and I don't know if they even realized they were constantly saving me. Not just from the things they could see but from the little things that no one could see.
